My grandson who is seven takes the youth Kenpo class with Master Nolan. The karate class at Mandala Son Martial Arts is real karate - this is not day care - and the class with Nolan is far superior to the previous studio we attended where much of the class time was spent managing children who were not at all interested in learning karate but were there for after school care. Master Nolan does a great job teaching - he is serious about the kids learning karate but he also keeps it light and makes it super fun for them. My grandson loves taking karate with Nolan, and I highly recommend this studio for anybody serious about learning karate.

If anyone is looking for a good martial arts academy, I highly recommend Mandala Son Martial Arts Portland. I've attended there Taijitsu class for about 4 months now and they are very professional and welcoming. They are especially welcoming to gamers and people more on the nerdy side. My teacher Master Nolan was very understanding and patient. Andre was a great teacher as well! Highly recommended.

This is a great martial arts club. Nolan is a great teacher who is patient and has a wonderful sense of humor. He creates an environment of learning that is fun and engaging. One of my favorite aspects of this club is it covers multiple different disciplines and you get to have light sparring sessions with other students and Nolan himself. Again I highly recommend Nolan’s club, I’ve tried a few different martial art establishments over the years and this one is my favorite by far.
