I used to go here and I became an orange belt in only two months and made new friends. I learned skills and how to protect my self invade I ever need to this was a great experience and would recommend all ages. It’s never too late to start something new.

Before starting at Southern Maine Taekwondo (SMTKD) every parent/teacher meeting involved a guidance counselor who explained that my daughter had very poor balance, she was weak and she kept to herself much of the time. Obviously the school wanted to test her for everything. Soon after starting at SMTKD, Riley started breaking 1 inch pine boards with her hands and feet. She is now outgoing and has gained leadership skills. The benefits from attending Southern Maine Taekwondo are immeasurable. I worry much less about my daughter getting bullied in school. I know she can defend herself. I know she can take charge. Plus the monthly fee breaks down to $4.16 per class. My last cup of coffee cost more than that. I only wish I could give them 10 stars.

My daughter has been taking classes here since March 2015 and LOVES it. She is learning not only to protect herself but also is gaining self confidence and making new friends of all ages! Mr. & Mrs. Esposito (and the other instructors as well) are wonderful role models to their students. They honestly care for and want their students to succeed in class and in all other areas in life. Before a student can test for their next belt, the student has to bring in a form completed by the student's parents AND teachers stating the student is current with school assignments and is being respectful, honest, and responsible. Including the teachers and parents in the process of advancement shows, at least to me and my daughter, that Taekwondo goes far beyond just learning self protection, but carries on through all aspects of life. Mr. & Mrs. E have helped my daughter become more self confident and responsible pre-teen. I would love to be able to give this great place more stars! Thank you everyone at So. Maine Taekwondo for helping me help my daughter become a better person.
