I have visited Roll Star Jiu Jitsu Academy several times over the years, and I have felt welcomed every time. The students will take time to talk to you, and that means a lot. The training was incredible. Professor Hernan was very detailed and took time to work with each individual in his class. I make it a point to stop at Roll Star in the Catonsville area for World Class training! I encourage anybody who can visit Roll Star to do so!

I had the honor of visiting Rollstar Jujitsu in Baltimore, Maryland, and I cannot express how grateful I am for the experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed — not just as a guest, but like a part of the family. Coach Hernan Guadalupe was incredibly attentive. May Allah reward him — he made sure to pay attention to everyone on the mat, no matter their level. He was kind, humble, and very encouraging throughout the class. You can really feel his sincerity and dedication, masha’Allah. The gym itself was clean, spacious, and well-maintained — something I deeply appreciated. The atmosphere was positive, respectful, and full of ukhuwah (brotherhood). The students were very friendly, always greeting with smiles and open hearts. I also had the chance to watch the kids’ class, and it was truly amazing. There were children of all different ages, and it was beautiful to see how they were being taught not just skill, but also discipline and confidence — all in a fun and respectful way. May Allah put barakah in this gym, in Coach Hernan, and in all the students who train there. I’m sincerely honored to have trained with them, and I ask Allah to allow me to continue benefitting from such a beautiful space. Jazakum Allahu khayran to Rollstar Jujitsu — you made me feel right at home.

Been in martial arts for four decades, mainly in the Baltimore area and surrounding counties. This is one of the best schools in the area, and I've been to a LOT of them. It's not just the instruction and the instructors, it's the culture and the atmosphere that's here. Just about everyone here is a *real* team player. Need help with a move? Everyone who knows it will assist. Worried about training with an injury? People will offer to work lighter with you so you can still participate instead of sit out. Kids need help? The older kids and/or adults volunteer. End of the day and time for clean up? More people looking for the brooms than there are brooms to sweep. Want to compete? Everyone that can will help you prep. Don't want to compete? No pressure. I find myself saying this after most classes, "this is my happy place, feels like home." Oh, and on the business side of things. FULL price transparency and ZERO attempts to upsell beyond what I was asking for. If you've been to enough martial arts schools you know *exactly* how rare both of those things are.

Rollstar BJJ is an excellent place to train at wether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner. The training area is safe and clean. The students are friendly and the rolls are tough. Professor Hernan is an excellent mentor. Always eager to share his knowledge and he takes great pride in the progress of his students. A new student quickly eases here into the Rollstar family. See you on the mat!
