I've trained at BMAC starting back in 2007 and was there for years! BMAC under Professor Marcelo, built my foundation and fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Now that I am a blackbelt and run my own academy, Professor Marcelo was able to come here and do a seminar that we all enjoyed. BMAC in Somerville has a very nice facility and they don't just offer BJJ, but they can train you in muay thai, karate, nogi submission grappling. Professor Marcelo runs a great curriculum not only for adults but also kids / teens of all ages. This is an incredible gym with top level coaches, very family oriented, and beginner friendly! You can go to BMAC and know youll be able to learn to defend yourself, train hard but train safe, make new friends and have a great time! Oss!

Love this place. I’ve been doing Muay Thai here for the last 6months and am hooked. I was going to another dojo not far from here and also loved it, but it came to the point where I felt like I wasn’t growing anymore in the sport there. I made the choice to switch gyms, and I am glad I did! I feel like I’ve grown so much as a marital artist here- and we’re only just getting started. The coaches are awesome and always have something new to teach me/ a way to get me to the next level of where I am striving to be. I know it can be intimidating, especially for females in a male dominated sport, but you will find nothing but love and hard work at this place.

Outstanding gym and an even better community. Brazilian Martial Arts Center is hands down one of the best places to train. The instructors are highly skilled, patient, and truly invested in your progress—whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner. The environment is welcoming, disciplined, and respectful. Classes are well-structured, safety is taken seriously, and the level of instruction in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (and other disciplines) is top tier. You can feel the professionalism and passion the moment you walk in. If you’re looking to build real skill, confidence, discipline, and be part of a supportive team, BMAC is the place to train. Highly recommended.

Started here a little less than a year ago with no martial arts background at all. All the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and the classes are very beginner friendly. It’s definitely worth trying a free class!
