I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Hard Knocks. From day one, the energy, professionalism, and passion in this gym stood out. The classes are intense, fun, and incredibly effective, no matter your fitness level. Whether you’re a beginner or more advanced, there’s something for everyone. What really makes Hard Knocks stand out are the coaches — they are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but also super approachable, supportive, and flexible. They take the time to tailor workouts to your goals, push you when you need it, and celebrate your progress along the way. The flexibility of the schedule has made it easy to stay committed even with a busy life. You never feel like you’re just a number here — it truly feels like a community that lifts each other up. If you’re thinking about joining, stop thinking and do it. Hard Knocks is the real deal.

I was referred to this gym after training at a fitness gym for a couple of weeks by an alumn. I was very nervous about starting at a new gym as a woman but upon arrival I saw that there were already a several women training and the men in the gym are very kind and welcoming without being creeps. Both the facilities and the equipment are clean. I was welcomed by Bill, and we talked a bit about my experience and he helped me create realistic goals for my Muay Thai journey. I started off purchasing a punch card but then came frequently enough that I became a monthly member. Although I’ve been coming consistently for six months I enjoy the fact that I am still a begginer and have so much to learn. It’s nice to be in an environment where is space for growth. Highly recommend :)

Hard Knocks Muay Thai is the best gym I’ve been to. Bill, the owner, is personable, knowledgeable, and makes everyone feel like family. He’s always willing to share his expertise and help you grow. The training, atmosphere, and community are second to none.

Update: Owner replied saying it was “miscommunication” and claimed a trainer was offered. For accuracy: I was only told to hit the heavy bag on my own. No trainer session was arranged or scheduled, and there was no follow-up plan afterward. ***Shortly after this review was posted, multiple new 5-star reviews appeared immediately. I traveled about 1.5 hours to attend class. I arrived around 7:00 PM and waited for about 30 minutes, expecting to join the 7:30 PM session. When it was time for class, I was told at the door that the 7:30 PM session was an “advanced class” and I was not allowed to join. This was not clearly communicated on the schedule in advance, and no alternative option was offered after I had already made the trip and waited. At the same time, a large group was training inside, including kids and students of mixed fitness levels. If certain classes are not open to everyone, that should be clearly labeled on the schedule beforehand. I currently still have 8–9 classes remaining in my package. At this point, I’ll consider the unused classes a donation and move on. I won’t be returning, and I would not recommend buying a class package/punch card here due to unclear communication and inconsistent access. PS: In earlier sessions, I noticed that some instruction did not seem to come from a traditional Muay Thai background, and I also repeatedly experienced unsolicited “coaching” from male students (not instructors), which made the training environment uncomfortable and unprofessional.
