Wu style Tai Chi Chaun Academy is the best place to learn Tai Chi Chaun! They are the real deal and offer everything from Qigong to learning weapons like the Spear, Broadsword, and Straightsword. Tai Chi is really good for the mind body and spirit. This is the best place to learn Tai Chi without having to travel China.

I started training at this school in 1999 under Sifu Stephen Brit (sic, RIP) and it changed my life. I moved to California years ago and don’t know who the current instructor is but I’m confident that whoever it is received the proper training and is passing the correct pedagogy onto the next generation. This is the real deal Taijiquan. Will definitely stop by for the form and some push hands next time I’m in the Detroit area.

Very chill place. Excellent Instruction, everyone is very nice & laid back. This was my first class, I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. My first session was enlightening and beyond my expectations. I'm a 67yo, 14yr CrossFit Masters athlete but not diligent with stretching & mobility. This Wu style Tai Chi gets the same results but much more interesting, less painful & calming. My wife & I will be joining after the 'sampler'.

I have been a student here for the last 8 months, and I love it! MTCI consists of a wonderful group of students and teachers in a warm and welcoming environment. The courses offered in Wu style T'ai Chi Ch'uan are challenging and exciting and well-worth the effort of focused training. T'ai Chi is a great workout both physically and mentally and just makes you feel good. MTCI trains the traditional martial applications of T'ai Chi, providing self-defense skills as well as promoting good health through energy-circulating exercises. Sifu Michael Ashmore is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in the many different forms as well as the history of Wu style T'ai Chi and is an enjoyable teacher to learn from. I definitely recommend MTCI for anyone interested in learning a martial art, or just looking for a healthy fitness activity. :o)

Wonderful tai chi school! Great for beginners to advanced students. The training is for health, healing, and martial arts. It's definitely worth your time if you're interested in training tai chi.
