Alive Jiu Jitsu

When I first walked into this gym Justin the owner greeted me with a huge smile and excitement. The no gi classes are the BEST in the KC area. A bunch of young and athletic guys and gals that are committed to getting better and trolling you throughout the process. A very diverse and healthy environment to get some legit training and humble pie!

This a great place for kids jiu-jitsu - though the adults also seem to be having a blast as well. My early elementary school aged child has benefited greatly from classes at Alive. The instructors do a great job of actually teaching the kids at their level. They offer kids classes 5 days a week which makes for a really flexible schedule. All around, it's awesome.

Alive Jiu-Jitsu what I found was so much more than a gym I found a family. My son Jacob came in with big dreams and a strong work ethic, but Alive transformed him in ways I never expected. They didn’t just teach him technique… they taught him discipline, confidence, and character. You can feel the heart they put into every class, every round, every kid they work with. We travel two hours away just to train with Justin and his incredible athletes. We’ve created a great friendship with everyone there and Justin also helps coach my daughter at tournaments! Highly recommend this gym for high level training.

We have had an incredible experience at this gym! My five-year-old, Santino, is currently in the kids' program, and I can’t say enough good things about Justin and all the coaches. They are patient, encouraging, and amazing at keeping the little ones engaged. At the same time, my 17-year-old has been attending the adult classes and absolutely loves the environment and the challenge. It’s rare to find a place that excels with both young children and adults. Highly recommend to any family looking for a top-tier Jiu Jitsu school!
