Gracie Barra Overland Park, KS

I held off giving a review for little bit over 2 months on purpose. I wanted to embrace the class to see if it was a fit for me and was it going to be a positive influence to my life physically and mentally. This school has definitely done that for me! Professor Valerio, coach Tim, Kyle and Austin instills a positive learning atmosphere catered to your growth. Not only that the Gracie Barra family at Overland Park has an inclusive attitude to people. Everyone wants to see each other grow whether you are little one or if you lived life for a bit. Overall, I would recommend this school to my family and friends because I trust their process and them!

This place has been more than just a training gym for me, it is also a community of like-minded individuals constantly working to improve themselves guided by the amazing Professors Lucas and Silvana. I have had the opportunity to train with world champions at this gym and the attitude everyone carries is one centered around learning, growing, and helping each other out. GBOP OSS!

My 5 yr. old grandson, Mason, loves Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu! He has really blossomed since starting classes. He is more confident, answers questions in class and is learning a skill which will serve him well his entire life. The staff are excellent and they know how to keep little ones engaged by making learning fun. I can't recommend Gracie Barra Overland Park enough!

Excellent Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in South Overland Park. The instructors, Professor Valerio Moro Ubaldini & Tim Thompson have been so instrumental in my BJJ development along with my children. It is like one big family at Gracie Barra Overland Park. We started on opening day of the Academy and have enjoyed meeting many new friends and the BJJ community. The training has been great for our children; teaching them discipline, work ethic, problem solving, and GRIT, all of which is needed in todays world. Over the past 18 months we’ve had multiple families we know join and all have had a great experience. My only regret is that we don’t have more time to train with them!

I walked in the first day not knowing anyone in the gym, or anything about BJJ. I was introduced by a colleague in Phoenix that goes to GB there. Upon arrival, Coach Austin suited me up, shared just enough to get me through the class without worry of performance, and he taught me how to fit in quickly by respecting the etiquette and teammates. The Professors had just moved to KC from Brazil this same week and although language was a challenge, they were immediate friends. They bring world class talent and accomplishment, and a culture of respect and taking care of every mate on the Mat. They are all about improvement on the mat and off. They run an amazing gym that technique is king, it’s intense but smiles are everywhere, and we take care of our own. I wish I had my daughters in with me, but at 51, I still don’t have the influence over them as I should! :) Very grateful GRACIE BARRA OP!
