We took classes almost 20 years ago from Andy’s teacher. We tried other tai chi classes over the years, but they were not as focused on teaching the movements of the form. When we started with Andy, we knew we were in the right place with the right teacher. Andy is serious about his teaching but never harsh. He wants his students to succeed and arrives early so the students in his 1st section class can come in for extra help. We highly recommend Andy!

Tai Chi is wonderful form of physical exercise for anyone and Andy is a terrific teacher of the form! Friendly, engaging and interested in your improvement, he has created some great classes to guide you through the learning process. His classroom provides a comfortable environment for practice with others on a similar level from beginning to advanced levels. Give it a try!

I started with Tai Chi KC in fall 2025. I've taken the First Section and am really excited to continue learning. I will also note that I feel comfortable and welcome as an LGBTQ+ student. Andy teaches Yang style short form Tai Chi, which is a defined series of movements. I find it similar to learning dance choreography, and he breaks it down into digestible chunks. The form is meditative, because it demands full focus, while still feeling physically relaxing.

Andy is amazing. I have gone to other places. They were more about socializing than really learning Tai Chi. If you are serious about learning Tai Chi and it's many benefits to your life, this is the place to be!

I am a new student with Andy and have absolutely enjoyed every class. His teaching style is very supportive and it is so easy to learn from him. I cant wait for the second class to learn the rest of the short form. Andy not only teaches you how to move, but why you should move and how it helps you and your continued improvement. He explains every step clearly and makes sure you understand before moving on. I would recommend you take his class for two reasons: 1. Tai Chi is a great exercise to improve your health and 2. Andy is a great teacher that is interested in his students learning and improving.
