Since day one I've always felt welcome. Friendly faces, good jiu jitsu and lots of good people. Classes are very well taught by one of the black belts there regularly. From beginner to advanced they have something for everyone. And the kids classes look like a blast!

Gwen & Bryan are awesome! They were welcoming and friendly. Bryan is a top notch jiu jitsu practitioner and took the time to teach me techniques I could use in tournaments going forward. The other students were welcoming and personable, says a lot about the culture that Gwen & Bryan have created. Thank you for allowing me to drop in!

The Gym Culture here is incredible. I am a beginner in Jiu Jitsu, and every single person I have met here is kind and helpful. I signed up here because I missed going to a martial arts gym and forgetting about the world for a while. I am grateful a gym like this exists. For people with anxiety: they will welcome you with open arms, and closed guards.

On a trip and stopped off in Billings for the night. Contacted Billings JJ to check on doing a drop in. They were so helpful and welcoming. The Professors taught an awesome class and made sure we were included the whole time. If you train and are in the area this is a MUST stop BJJ school!!!!!!!

I was in Billings for a week doing a work training. I love jiu jitsu and was looking for a place to train and keep busy after work. I travel a lot and drop into many different BJJ gyms. I decided to drop into Billings BJJ and check it out. The warm ups and rolls were vigorous and skillful, but not egotistical. I had a total blast. The professors were all very knowledgeable and charismatic. The gym has an old school jiu jitsu feel, without any of the negative side effects; this isn’t a gentrified soon to be karate dojo. It also isn’t overly regimented where you show up wearing the gyms gi with a report card in hand. There were also no bullies, no posturing, and no bad blood drama that is so common in many lower class BJJ schools. They are also doing an excellent job at keeping up with the ever-developing competition landscape, without abandoning the original purpose of BJJ: to win real fights against real people. Simply put, if you want to learn to fight, and you want to learn to do the old school BJJ this gym is a great place to train. I observed briefly one of their kids classes and I was very impressed. The kids were performing beyond what is typically seen for their age groups. They looked like little adults. They were rolling hard, trying for submissions, and taking care of each others safety and well being. The professors also catered their instruction so it would be better absorbed by young minds. I wouldn’t hesitate to have my own kids train there. On a personal note, I trained there two hours a night for four days in a row. I met good people and made some excellent acquaintances who I will may never see again. The professors and students brought me into their “home” and treated me like family. I was genuinely sad to leave at the end of the week. Thank you guys for welcoming me. If I’m ever in Billings, I’ll be dropping in.
