My teenage daughter has been attending AAMA for about 11 years, and she absolutely loves it. Over the years, it has played a huge role in helping her build confidence and develop strong self-defense skills. Kung fu has truly benefited both her body and her mind. She has gained physical strength, discipline, focus, and mental resilience, all in a positive and supportive environment. The instructors are dedicated, encouraging, and genuinely care about their students’ growth. We are incredibly grateful for everything Kung fu has given her and highly recommend it to any family looking for a place that supports long-term personal growth, confidence, and real self-defense skills.

A huge thank you to Mark and his talented team for hosting our semi-private Women's Self-Defense course sponsored by The Legacy Guardians Insurance and Financial Solutions! It was an incredible experience that helped get us out of our comfort zones and learn valuable safety skills. Highly recommend investing in yourself to learn from such an experienced team!

American Academies of Martial Arts has been one of the best decisions my daughter and I have ever made. We originally joined for fitness and self-defense, but kung fu has given us something so much deeper: confidence, discipline, and a true sense of belonging. From day one, the instructors made us feel welcome, supported, and capable—no matter our starting point. They teach with a perfect mix of structure and encouragement, so you’re always improving while still feeling proud of where you are. My daughter has grown so much in her self-confidence. She carries herself differently now—more focused, more resilient, and more willing to try hard things without fear of failing. For me, it’s been empowering in a way I didn’t expect. Kung fu has helped me feel stronger physically, but also mentally. It’s become something we look forward to every week—our routine, our community, our shared space to grow together. The atmosphere here is respectful, positive, and genuinely uplifting. If you’re considering martial arts for your child (or for yourself), I can’t recommend American Academies of Martial Arts enough. It’s not just training—it’s a place where people build each other up and become part of something meaningful.

The school is Family oriented and many times feels like our second home. The staff is friendly and energetic. The School is kept clean regularly. Our kids really enjoy themselves and have learned respect and great work ethic. Highly recommended.

Our kid went here and the school used to be top notch, over the years things have changed and somewhat fallen. The Kung Fu training is valuable and the atmosphere was welcoming, we loved this place. If you decide to choose AAMA keep a few things in mind - there are favorites, keep an eye on billing, be aware of your time and dedication if donated, lastly if any issues arise there's an amount of sexism so have a male deal with them if you can. Would be nice to see the people in charge course correct some of the things that have entered into the school that either weren't there before, or maybe I just didn't notice. While I believe firmly in teaching my kid to follow through on what is commited to, and martial arts can help with focus as well as strength in self - I allowed my child to exit right around the final step of black belt testing. They no longer wanted to attend, and after an incident I decided it is more important that we teach younger generations the value of respect and equality, not antiquity, treatment of people in both professional business & personal settings whether someone is female or male, mother or father, husband or wife, son or daughter.
