American School of Karate & Judo

Our family loves this place. We have watched our son grow so much in his short six months of being a student here. The instructors and staff make everyone feel like family and my son always walks out with a huge smile on his face. Staff are highly trained martial artists with years of experience. This is more than a dojo, it’s home.

We love this place. Excellent instructors who teach the meaning of what they are learning. My kids (10 & 12 when we started) have learned respect and discipline in a fun environment. It is a great place for kids and there are many kids there from 4 years old and up. My kids get personalized attention when they need it and they have made several friends. I have recommended ASKJ to many of my friends.

Wonderful karate school. My son is 8, he started about 6 months ago. The teachers are great, the school is clean, and he really enjoys it. It’s not just learning the moves, it’s the discipline and encouragement. He just got his yellow belt and shows no sign of stopping anytime soon. He is also very impressed with the Grand Master!

Always a positive experience. The instructors know their stuff. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Love that you pay by month not by session.

I think that this is a great school for learning martial arts and especially for young children... but, personally through my experience I feel that the instructor can do a better job of testing. What I mean by this is that I feel like they are not giving me enough time to really learn and practice my form and my belt requirements. I feel as if the belt change is sort of rushed and I don't feel like I really did my best when I do earn my belt. Also IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO JOIN, please make sure you are okay with not competing because this school doesn't do competition and focuses more on self defense. Otherwise, great teachers, fun classes, and very flexible schedule!
