Katabami Ju-Jitsu Dojo, School of Martial Arts and Eastern Healing Arts

I started attending classes at Katabami Ju-Jitsu Dojo five months ago, and it’s been a wonderful experience. I am new to ju-jitsu and I’ve already learned so much. I am comfortable going at my own pace, but I also feel encouraged and supported to push myself. Sensei Alexey is a great teacher and incredibly knowledgeable. I’ve practiced with him in group settings and one-on-one, and I really enjoy both. If you are at all considering ju-jitsu, I highly recommend trying traditional Japanese ju-jitsu at Katabami Ju-Jitsu. It’s a wonderful experience (mind/body/spirit).

He strikes a great balance between practical knowledge honed by years of training and application, with traditional Japanese concepts/ techniques to create an outstanding training environment. I trained with Sensei Alexey Kunin at Katabami Jujitsu for about 5 years earning the rank of second-degree brown belt. This was my second time going through Japanese Jujitsu ranks--I previously had earned a third-degree brown belt at another school before training with Sensei Kunin and started over with Katabami. I highly recommend Katabami Jujitsu. Whether you are new to martial arts and want to learn the basics of self defense and discipline or if you have trained in other arts before, you will not be disappointed. Sensei Kunin has a ton of information to share and he is an excellent teacher. Had he not moved to Utah, I would still be training with him. He is professional, kind, and knowledgeable. You would be hard pressed to find another Japanese Jujitsu school at all, much less one with such a great teacher and a family environment.

Katabami Ju-Jitsu is an amazing place to practice traditional Japanese martial art. If you happened to leave near by, you are very lucky to have such a high quality place near you. I’ve been practicing martial arts for 20 years already and did spend a few years in Katabami Ju-Jitsu school. And I’m saying that I really understand the quality in traditional martial arts because it’s what I’ve been doing for a while:) Atmosphere at Katabami is very friendly. Positive energy and a good spirit, respect and discipline you may fill and find for yourself all this by being there and train under guidance of sensei Alexey and Olga Kunins. So, I’m Very recommend it to all who looking for his missing peace in life, guys, just come and try it out and you’ll see for yourself that I was right:)

Finding the Katabami Ju-Jitsu Dojo is one of the best things that has happened to our family. Under Sensei Kunin's leadership, guidance and mentorship, our son has found a true passion to something that benefits his mind, body and spirit. As parents we couldn't have found a better martial arts education for our son.
