I've been Ed's and Matt's student for nearly 20 years, following them form gym to gym. The expertise and camaraderie you experience with them is fantastic. Very inclusive, and always keeping in mind that you pour the jiujitsu into you, not you into the jiujitsu. It takes the form you are able to give, whatever the age, or ability. They always find a way to encourage me and keep me going. I thoroughly recommend this gym. It's a family.

I trained with this group at their previous location and followed them to the new one because I believe in what they’re doing. I’ve been with them since they opened, and the level of knowledge here still impresses me. Matt and Ed have built something special, and Anthony’s afternoon classes are excellent. The depth of their understanding of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is on another level — easily the best in Nebraska. There are a lot of great coaches here, including lifelong practitioners in other arts like wrestling and judo, which really adds to the quality of instruction. The culture is positive, respectful, and ego-free. People train hard, but they look out for each other. Most importantly, I trust them with my kids. My kids love jiu-jitsu, and a lot of that love comes from how they run the kids program here. They keep it fun while building confidence, discipline, and strong character. We train here as a family, and it’s been an awesome place for us to grow together.

I can't imagine a better place for someone to undergo their journey into the martial arts. The Professors are amazing, kind, have vast knowledge, and are willing to help anyone at any time. The culture of the place is very positive, with everyone helping as well. The only regret I have is that it took me so long to sign up.

Legacy BJJ is hands down one of the nicest martial arts facilities in Nebraska. From the moment you walk in, it’s clear this place is run with purpose, professionalism, and heart. The facility itself is outstandingly clean, well-organized, and clearly designed with students and families in mind. It’s not just a training facility; it’s an environment that promotes discipline, growth, and confidence. The instruction is high quality, structured, and age-appropriate, ensuring students are challenged while still feeling supported. What truly sets BBJ Legacy apart, though, is the staff and ownership. Matt and his team are incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in every student. They take the time to know the kids, encourage them individually, and create a culture that is positive, respectful, and motivating. You can tell this is a people-first organization and not just a business. My son had a great experience attending class here, and as a parent, I couldn’t be more impressed with the professionalism, safety, and values BBJ Legacy represents. If you’re looking for top-tier martial arts instruction in a family-friendly, high-character environment, BBJ Legacy sets the standard. Highly recommended!

I've trained over 15 years in Bjj and most of those years I've been privileged to be coached by Professor Ed. Some of those years I trained in Brazil. I can say that without a doubt that Professor Ed has been one of the best coaches I've ever had to include training with the Gracies in Rio. Of course Professor Ed trained there too so it's to be expected. Omaha is fortunate to have Legacy BJJ and I urge anyone who has an interest in becoming a true martial artist to train with the Professor!
