Our family LOVES Omaha Blue Waves! Their staff is amazing. They are knowledgeable, compassionate, and excited to help each person on their martial arts journey. They are committed into building to each of their students not just as a martial artist, but to building character as well.

Great family run organization and excellent teaching team. We have been involved for a few months to date and have enjoyed the training, fitness and confidence gained through Omaha Blue Waves. My kids started lessons and shortly after I was training as well. There is something for all ages and abilities. Check them out if you are or ever have been remotely interested in martial arts training.

Our twin boys have been going to Omaha Blue Waves for a few months and the experience has been incredible. They have learned so much and have progressed quickly. Grandmaster Helaney and staff do a great job of teaching the students and the higher ranks are always stepping up to help the lower ranks. Not only is it martial arts that is learned but also life lessons. It’s truly a family there and our boys have felt so welcome and enjoy going to their weekly classes. We would highly recommend Omaha Blue Waves as the premier choice for martial arts.

We held our son’s 5th birthday party here in Dec. 2022. I had been looking for something a little different for a party, as we have been to several kids’ parties at BounceU and SkyZone. I spoke with Jeff and Michele and they told me about what they offered for a 1.5 hour party; but that I could also customize it. They honestly understated the experience; it was an amazing birthday party and my son and his friends had a blast. Many of the kids who came had not tried martial arts before so a few were hesitant, but most jumped right into the mini martial arts class that started off the party. One thing that blew me away was the number of staff they had there for the party. I had expected 1-2 but there were 4-5 staff members there to assist in teaching the kids. The staff was clearly very good working with kids as they were quite patient when some were running around. The parents also loved how Jeff and Michele could get the kids to be quiet and listen! :) there were many other aspects of this experience that were great; I could go on and on. But I will end with saying, I had researched other martial arts facilities for parties and this was the only one I saw that let every kid at the party have a chance to break a board (as opposed to just the birthday kid). The kids who tried this LOVED it. Such a cool experience. Thank you, Jeff, Michele, and team!

My family has been been involved with Omaha Blue Waves for over 6 years. My kids and I are are martial arts students and my wife takes fitness classes and gets regular massages. This is a great family owned business and all their instructors are knowledgeable and patient. All their memberships are month-to-month, so you are never locked into a contract. Grandmaster Jeff Helaney has over 50 years martial arts experience as well as real-world experience from a life in law enforcement. OBW teaches traditional martial arts, which includes both physical and personal development. I've watched my children as well as others develop confidence, respect and personal responsibility, qualities their teachers have complemented them on. Belt ranks at this school are earned, not given out simply because you paid your fees. So when a student is promoted, they know they've earned it. Omaha Blue Waves has something for every age group. If you're looking for a fun, family oriented activity to keep you moving and push you to be your best, stop in and check them out.
