I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Omaha with my kids at the Omaha Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (OABJJ) for nearly two years, and the experience has been incredible. Professor Dennis, a respected black belt BJJ instructor, is a leader, coach, and mentor who makes every student feel part of the OABJJ MMA and jiu-jitsu family. The academy has multiple black belt coaches, excellent training partners, and a supportive environment that builds confidence and skill. My BJJ and MMA techniques have improved tremendously, and training here gave me the confidence to compete in jiu-jitsu tournaments. I started jiu-jitsu at another gym, but once a friend recommended OABJJ, I knew I had found the right place. This is the top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school in Omaha for kids, adults, beginners, and competitors. If you’re searching for BJJ classes in Omaha, MMA training, or self-defense for the whole family, I highly recommend Omaha Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I’m proud to be part of the OABJJ family.

Last year we went on a search for the best BJJ gym in Omaha for our kids. This included research online, visiting the gyms and watching the classes to going to competition and witnessing the different teams and its coaches in action. OABJJ stood out from all the rest. Hands down!! Professor Dennis is one of a kind. He truly cares about his students and wants the best for them. It shows in everything he does. Incredibly knowledgeable and skilled in the sport. I’m a huge fan of the sport and have been for most of my life. Going to the gym and watching Dennis coach the kids is the best part of my day. From the coaches to the students to the parents, everyone is one big family! There is something really special about this gym. We are grateful for professor Dennis!

I can't say enough positive things about OABJJ! The instruction is top notch. There's great camaraderie amongst the students. The professor Denis Bacon is not only a great teacher, but a stand up guy. The gym has a thriving youth attendance. Whole families even come to train. I feel fortunate to be apart of this gym and encourage you to come and check us out.

This gym has to be the best gym I've ever been to in all of my 15 years of doing Jiu Jitsu, which time has been spread across many states and and schools. Professor Dennis Bacon is the best and most understanding instructor I have had during my time in cumulative training. Upon first ever hearing about him and his gym location, I knew that if he could teach kids to be champion Jiu Jitsu athletes, he could easily instruct adults to greatness in the martial art and sport as well. The students at the gym are helpful and genuinely want to see each other grow and gain skill. There is a real familial togetherness and bond amongst them, and there are very serious competitors in this gym as well. I have been attending this gym for 5 years and what I have recounted here has remained consistent, and that is very hard to say of many of the studios I have attended during my time training Jiu Jitsu. Most gyms offer a place to train with little else added. This gym, with its culture and close knit bonds, and also with the guidance of such a committed professor offers the new or seasoned practitioner with a platform by which they can enter into the deeper healing aspects of Jiu Jitsu (in finding an actual community), and also and very important to the mission of martial arts, this gym equips you with cutting edge skills that will sustain you through self defense encounters and competition. I speak this from a personal experience from my time having been here at the gym and urge anyone that is serious about changing their life, meeting health goals, and becoming more secure in self defense goals to come through and give it a try - sign up - you won't be disappointed!!!
