Shady, deceptive business practices. Unfriendly, inflexible management style. Participated in a fitness competition held be S-Cape with an advertised cash prize. Upon winning said prize, no one mentioned it at all after and all company representatives packed up quickly and scurried away immediately after the competition with no directions on disbursement, timeline, etc. Upon contacting the organization via email, they indicated that upon receiving the urine test results back, the payment would be issued and it usually took four weeks. I patiently waited four weeks... Nothing happened. I contacted again and was told the results still weren't in. I waited another two weeks. Still nothing. I contacted another promoter of fitness competitions to see if this was an industry norm for drug testing results to take so long to come back. IT ISN'T. Upon speaking to him, it was indicated that results usually only take ONE week, not over six. Upon discovering this new information, I emailed the owner again and she upheld that they simply did not have the tests back. So, I contacted the president of the fitness coalition that the original contest was held under. He informed me that in fact, the tests had been back for over a month. After more back and forth, I was finally promised a check on July 3rd. I waited until Monday the 8th because of the holiday and then informed them I still hadn't received the payment. The check had been "sent to the wrong address" despite multiple verifications of my address. Finally on the 12th of July a check was received- for half of the advertised amount. Now, the story is that the advertised amount was a representative whole of total monies available for possible award. The owner forwarded me other contest posters that are worded completely differently and none of which say the same thing as her poster to try and feebly support her claim. It should not take three months to achieve what should be accomplished in one week. The company's handling or perhaps I should say "non-handling" of issues that arise, not being forthright in conducting business, having to be prompted and prodded to do what they are supposed to do-- all of these items are all indicative of how these people do business. Just because you know fitness, does not mean you operate with integrity in business. This story is a prime example. S-Cape has been given ample opportunity to make it right, but do not care to do so.
