In addition to being an excellent martial arts instructor, Master Dan is ALSO a superb fitness instructor and certified personal trainer. I actually started as one of his personal training clients, and am now a student. Over the last few years, he has helped me increase my fitness, lose weight and expand my vision of what I can accomplish. He's helped me learn to believe in myself. Everyone should join the early morning strength training/kickboxing classes! Go to the dojo or join via Zoom (like me). It's a great kickstart to your day!

Master Dan runs an amazing school. He has always been very welcoming to our family through the years. My children have learned so much about martial arts in addition to the many life lessons he has taught them through the years. I would recommend Zanshin to any family.

Being part of the Zanshin Family as been such a great experience! My 2 boys and I all take taekwondo classes with Master Dan. The classes are exciting each time, with not only learning taekwondo but life lessons as well. My boys and I have become more confident in ourselves because of the love and guidance we receive at Zanshin Martial Arts. Master Dan and everyone who attends is welcoming with open arms and becomes family. Master Dan is an amazing instructor, mentor, role model and friend, he takes his time with each student as needed and makes sure everyone is fully understanding. I myself also started doing personal training workouts with Dan. I've wanted to find a 1 on 1 personal trainer for the longest time, but I couldnt find one that I trusted and would train me for my needs and not just "their job". Dan has done an amazing job helping me train the right way, on my time and what works best for me and not him and I trust him fully. After every workout I feel amazing, motivated and excited that I can do something that just makes me feel good about myself! Thank you Dan and The Zanshin Family for everything you've done for my boys and I! We are blessed to be part of this family!

My 8 year-old son has been training Taekwondo at Zanshin for a little over a year and the results have been remarkable. Master Dan and the other instructors do an excellent job of teaching the kids how to defend themselves while also emphasizing that fighting is a last resort. In addition, they emphasize personal responsibility and discipline that has an impact at home, school and beyond. I never intended to take part in training. However, I have some previous martial arts experience and after observing class for a few weeks it was plainly obvious that Dan and all of the other instructors absolutely know what they are doing, which is definitely not the case everywhere. I have been training Combat Hapkido at the school for close to a year now and would recommend it to any adult. Whether you are looking for practical self defense techniques to use in the unfortunate situation that you need them out in the world or just to have a a great time training with a bunch of good people, this is the place for you. 5 stars.

My child and I had a horrible experience at Zanshin. First, I don't think Master Dan is a very nice person. Last March my child was suppose to test for her next belt, but was unable to attend because she had something to do after school and it was scheduled on Good Friday. Master Dan made this speech that he was sorry for scheduling testing on Good Friday and he would understand if it needed to be schedule for another day for some people. My child asked Master Dan when she was at her lesson when she could test for her next belt and Master Dan told her condescendingly that testing for her belt was earned and that was a good question. He left us hanging. My child was real upset about an adult treating her this way. She had gotten three sticker, so she earned the right to test. So I tried texting Master Dan about when my daughter could test for her next belt. He text me back in a sarcastic manner saying, "there is better ways of doing things." I don't understand why this became such a problem for him. Business 101 you try to make the consumer happy. How dare him for talking to me like that. I guess Master Dan needed a power trip to make himself feel superior. I also did not like how he treated some of the children. Some kids he went out of his way to dote on them. It was kind of sickening. My child and I did not have the best experience with karate and probably will never try it again.
