From an academy owner to another, Valkyrie Grappling is an amazing place to train at. My husband and I are long time friends of the owner of Valkyrie and could not speak more highly of her. Coach Raquel is amazing. I’ve been doing jiu jitsu for almost 9 years and have just recently started learning judo to improve my takedowns. I’ve learned a little judo from a previous instructor (the instructor was ok but the attention to detail wasn’t there). Raquel had a skilled and practiced eye when it comes to showing technique that I don’t get to see often and I’m really appreciative of her allowing myself, husband and kids to drop in and receive world class instruction from her. The gym and mats are clean and the environment and her students are also really welcoming (which can be hit or miss if you’ve ever dropped in to gyms while you’re out of town). We felt like we were part of the family and I appreciate knowing that my teenage kids were safe training with any of her students, too. I’d recommend Valkyrie to anyone, in or out of town.

This Grappling School is the best in Vegas! I came in to Valkyrie Grappling Academy on a Saturday for the 10 AM class. I introduced myself to Sensei Raq and everyone else. It was super cool and inspiring to see a female Judo black belt. I was welcomed with open arms and everyone was nice and respectful. The Saturday class was awesome. We wormed up, learned some judo technique (achi waza) and ground technique too (newaza). Sensei Raq has tons of knowledge and gave me great tips to improve my Judo. It’s evident she enjoys teaching! Shout out to Sensei JT as well (also in this picture) who is a great training partner and great coach too. I will be back when I’m in town again. If you are looking to learn judo or/and jiu-jitsu, this academy is the place to be.

Excellent, excellent school. Coach Raq is great teacher and the new school space is immaculate and spacious. The mat itself is excellent for Judo and throwing. They also have BJJ classes now under a black belt. Former Judo Olympian Joe Marchal is associated with Valkyrie. He is one of the highest ranking black belts in Vegas and is also a great coach. I'm currently 3rd degree black belt in BJJ and 2nd degree brown belt in Judo. I highly recommend Valkyrie to kids and adults.
