Caughlin Club
About
Caughlin Club offers mixed martial arts training in Reno, Nevada, with a focus on personal training through its team of certified instructors including Theresa Gibson, Jackie Bullock, Dayna Nevills, and Rockey Guillen. The facility provides extensive amenities such as a fitness center, group fitness studio, boxing studio, indoor basketball and volleyball gym, tennis courts, swimming pools including a 25 meter pool, and a Pilates reformer studio. Members describe the gym as having a nice vibe and being clean with everything one could want from a comprehensive fitness facility. However, reviews indicate ongoing maintenance issues with amenities like the sauna, steam room, and hot tub, which members report are frequently broken or down for extended periods. Some members have also expressed concerns about equipment condition, noting that weight machines are sometimes bent or broken. The gym has faced regulatory scrutiny regarding its child care program, with a state investigation finding violations of child safety regulations that was closed in early 2026. While some members appreciate the facility's offerings and atmosphere, others report troubling behavior among staff and management that they feel creates an unprofessional environment. The club's leadership has been criticized by some members for prioritizing personal relationships over accountability and member experience. Despite these concerns, the gym continues to operate with its full range of MMA training programs and amenities available to members.

I am bummed that I did not get to enjoy or take advantage of my membership at this place. Unfortunately I had unforeseen family hardships. If you're thinking of trying this place out, it's a cool spot with a nice vibe, clean and has everything you could want from a nice basketball court, outdoor pool, sauna and much more.

Over priced. Sauna, steam room and hot tub are always broken. Weight machines are bent or broken. Staff and other customers are rude. Anything is better than here.

This business was recently investigated by the state of Nevada for failure to comply with child safety regulations. The investigation found them in violation and cited them. Be careful and think twice when you're looking at this business not just as a possible child care option for your kid(s), but also as a place that you work out at and inherently trust that their are adhering to health and safety standards. I would guess that if a business is cutting corners on something like this, they're probably cutting corners on many other things. - Program: Child Care Program - Name: CAUGHLIN CLUB KIDZ - Intake Type: Complaint - Complaint Number: 12752 - Credential #: 4141 - Complaint Received Date: 12/18/2025 - Complaint Closed Date: 02/04/2026 - Status: Closed - Status Reason: Closed Investigation

Sauna and steam room continue to break down. They have been down for an extended period of time. The fix has consistently been a failure.

Over time, I’ve seen some troubling behavior at the Caughlin Club that goes far beyond simple mismanagement. There have been repeated instances of inappropriate personal conduct among staff—behavior that should never be acceptable in a professional, family-oriented environment. What’s more concerning is that these issues have been brought to the attention of management, and rather than addressing them, the response has been dismissive. Leadership has made it clear that they prioritize personal relationships and internal favoritism over accountability, staff well-being, or the experience of members. The club has the potential to be a great community space, but until there’s a serious shift in values and leadership, I can’t recommend it to others. A healthy environment starts at the top—and right now, that’s exactly where the problem is.
