Five stars is not enough. A life-long student of Professor Eddie Solis. I can say without hesitation that Solis Martial Arts is truly exceptional. Eddie is an absolute master of his craft, and his curriculum goes far beyond technique, it aligns the body, mind, and spirit in a way that few martial arts schools ever achieve. Nothing completes a long day of work better than an evening on the mat, sharpening discipline, focus, and self-awareness under Eddie’s guidance. Eddie and April are outstanding coaches and mentors. They create a welcoming, supportive environment while holding students to a high standard, no matter where they are on their martial arts journey. If you’re looking for authentic martial arts instruction rooted in integrity, purpose, and lifelong growth, I cannot recommend Solis Martial Arts highly enough.

Sifu Eddie Solis trained me to my black belt when I was a teenager. I've recently came back for training after many many years. He's still the same as ever, very detailed oriented, pushing you to your limit, and scrutinizing your every move to perfection to ensure that you're ready for anything. He was and is still very tough because he wants you to give 110%. All the tough times and perseverance really stuck with me. It helped me push myself a bit more, even outside of the dojo. I'm thankful to be trained by Sifu Eddie Solis again.

Training under Professor Solis has been an amazing experience. No class is the same and I know every time I will be pushed to find strengths I didn't know I had. I feel incredibly honored to be able to train under one of the best. Professor is invested in his students and wants them to grow and excel every time they step on the mat. I highly recommend this studio, I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Solis Martial Arts is AMAZING! As a former mixed martial artist and martial arts practitioner for over 20 years, I found myself searching for a style that would reignite my passion, stay true to traditional martial arts values, and still be practical and effective in real-world situations. Kajukenbo at Solis Martial Arts does exactly that—and then some. It blends karate, judo/jujitsu, kenpo, and boxing into a fluid, no-nonsense self-defense system, so every class feels both traditional in spirit and very modern in application. The physical training is outstanding. Classes push your cardio, strength, coordination, and flexibility in a structured way, with pad work, partner drills, conditioning, and realistic self-defense scenarios. You are not just memorizing forms—you are learning how to move, strike, block, and defend under pressure. Whether it is combinations, takedowns, or close-quarters defense, the training builds real functional fitness and endurance, and you feel your body getting stronger and more capable week after week. On the mental side, the growth is just as significant. Kajukenbo at Solis Martial Arts trains your mind to stay calm, focused, and adaptable. You learn to manage adrenaline, make decisions under stress, and maintain awareness of your surroundings. The emphasis on discipline, respect, and perseverance carries over into daily life, improving confidence, patience, and mental toughness. You do not just leave class tired—you leave more centered, more focused, and more resilient. Professor Solis is fantastic. His knowledge of Kajukenbo is superb, and he understands how to teach the art as a complete system—striking, grappling, self-defense, and strategy—while still pacing the training to match each student’s experience and fitness level. He stresses correct technique, realistic application, and the traditional etiquette of martial arts, but keeps every class engaging and energizing. You always feel challenged, never overwhelmed. Ms. April is amazing as well. Her technical knowledge, attention to detail, and supportive coaching style make a huge difference on the mat. She is constantly encouraging students, helping refine techniques, and making sure everyone—from beginners to advanced practitioners—feels included, supported, and pushed to do their best. Whether you are continuing a long martial arts journey or stepping onto the mat for the first time, and even if you are simply looking for a fun, effective way to get in shape while learning real self-defense, I highly recommend Solis Martial Arts. The Kajukenbo program offers a powerful combination of physical conditioning, practical skills, and mental development that is hard to find anywhere else.

I have been training with Professor Eddie for just over 2 years. — I started at the young age of 65 and have learned an incredible amount of martial arts! I am now sporting a purple belt and plan on going all the way . Great style of teaching. If you are looking for a super self defense and kickboxing class — this is your ticket! Young or old — and your never too old to benefit from this form of martial arts — oh and I guess I am kinda old — 68 years! I love this stuff…
