reviewsWhat Members Say
Members praise the quality boxing knowledge and training, particularly highlighting coach Felix as down to earth, perceptive, and effective at helping them advance their skills. Many describe a diverse, humble atmosphere with good equipment for both fitness and competition training. However, significant concerns emerge about reliability, with multiple reports of coaches not showing up for appointments, defensive responses to criticism, and judgmental attitudes. Specific complaints include a coach lecturing a job applicant about their qualifications, leaving a minor child alone in an empty gym, and refusing refunds after missed sessions.

Great gym. Get any kind of work in from fitness to competition fight training. Very diverse, humble atmosphere. Felix is an awesome trainer, very down to earth, and perceptive with alot of knowledge. He has the formulas needed for you to excel your boxing skills to the next level. Only thing I regret is not meeting him like 10 years ago when I was competing.

Let's TRY to keep it short and sweet. I called today to see if a lovely gym has any employment openings—assistance to the coach, front desk, and jeez even maintenance. The person who answered, I assume the coach himself (sounded very old school Puertorican) asked for my credentials. I told him, I am 32, grew around quite a few boxing gyms to train, 10+ years of experience, and sparred a number of times. I even teach at my local gym which surprisingly has a great boxing program for adults. Then he asked If I ever competed and won golden gloves. When I said no sir. This guy went on a 9 min lecture how I should not be going around trying to help people throw a punch. (Mind you I was in the middle of my gym working out, I put down my phone because he was rambling on, when I was done with my set, I picked up my phone and he was still lecturing me)(I clocked him at 6:48 at that point lol) How I have no reason to deal with students. Then he said I should go to regular fitness gym and ask for employment and after saying that, he said "you shouldn't even be doing that tbh, you have no business training people" lol I let him ramble off until he hung up because I felt like he needed that for himself. After thinking about it, this guy just judged the crap outta me. lol He said I would not know how to deal with kids with hardship IN BELLEVEILLE when I grew up in passaic/paterson from an immigrant family of nothing getting into childish fights where I should not be. Also having my troubled nephews and niece growing up in hardship as well and trying to guide them! (Mind you I put myself through college with a finance degree and doing ok for myself). I want to do this not because I need the money. No sir, as you said on the phone. I want to do this because I love the sport and I know I have a talent for teaching. I want my second job to be doing something I love. Not teaching a world champion, but seeing people build confidence in themselves. SMH In other words, he forgets he lives in America. Telling people that they are not worthy and should quit. Mind you I was going to bring in my OWN training equipment! Belleveille you will be seeing my affordable One-on-One posts at your local grocery stores thanks to this man. So yes, believe the other comments, this guy seems like a jerk. I am giving 3 stars because this gym looks like it does have good equipment, nice neighborhood and I do see his wife being professional on here and she seems nice.

Agree with the other 1 star reviews. This coach lies and talks a good game, but then does not show up for appointments and gets a quick attitude. You can tell the way he and his wife act in responding to these reviews- more lies, getting defensive and arguing in the comments. They think they can run a gym via cameras. This is just not a stand up guy, not a stand up business. Once they have your money, all bets are off. Avoid.

Wish I could give negative stars. Signed my 13 year old up for a $250 package and the “coach” didn’t show up for the very first appointment. Since my son was able to open the door at the agreed upon time- which I’d confirmed the DAY BEFORE, I assumed the appointment was going to proceed and drove off, intending to pick him up in an hour. Son calls and tells me he’s alone in an empty gym. Texted the guy asking where he was. At first he says he’s “on his way” then later confesses he’s at another appointment. Tells me to have my minor child go through an hour-long conditioning routine. Alone. In an empty gym. Also tells me he’s not a “babysitter”. Then acted like this bonkers arrangement was what we agreed upon. Which it was not. Now is evidently refusing to refund my $250. I have my text messages if he tries to dispute this review and will happily screenshot. Avoid at all costs.
