My daughter learned a great deal not only in Karate but also in discipline, focus, and motivation. The training and guidance provided helped her build stronger motivational skills and confidence, which will benefit her both inside and outside the dojo. Greatly appreciated to Master Austin, Sensei Tom, and everyone there at Universal Warrior Mixed Martial Arts in Bayonne at 250 Broadway. Thank-you.

Universal Warrior Arts is the dojo (martial arts gym) for you. They have two locations- Bayonne and Jersey City. My kids have been going to UWA for years, and I highly recommend you give it a shot. Whether you have a child who needs structure and discipline, or you want your little one to learn self defense, Grandmaster Austin Wright, Sr. has you covered. If you want to learn traditional karate or you want to learn an MMA style to protect yourself on the streets, UWA has you covered. Grandmaster Wright is an International champion and a published author who has literally written the book on his martial arts style which is a combination of judo, jiu-jitsu, kung-fu, Okinawan karate, and American kickboxing. He learned karate from his father as a child and incorporated the different styles he encountered throughout his life, which includes serving in the United States Air Force. Get in shape, gain confidence, learn to protect yourself, and make friends! Sign up for trial classes today!

There is one thing all karate students have in common — they all begin their journey as a white belt. UWA is rare; we have Grandmaster Wright, who has a unique gift of physical expertise and generosity of spirit. Grandmaster Wright, Sensei Jackson & Kenson are teaching these children while helping weave them into confident young adults. The instructors work exceptionally well with the children's and genuinely care about them. The program teaches children to work hard and have fun without immediately receiving something in return for their efforts. The perseverance, love and joy of learning is reflected in the children taking the classes. I have really appreciated the focus on skill, but even more so on character building – good sportsmanship, kindness & respect. UWA has a family feel that is welcoming to both new and existing students. They work to develop the students physical, mental and spiritual success. Grandmaster Wright is indeed a highly qualified martial artist who has developed an Institute for the study of martial arts, not just a martial arts school. This is not a school where you go a couple of times and walk away with a black belt. This is a family friendly school, dedicated to the study of martial arts. I highly recommend UWA to anyone seriously interested in martial arts training and especially to families.

Absolutely phenomenal experience at this MMA school! Coach Austin Wright is great... His depth of knowledge and years of experience in mixed martial arts are immediately obvious from the moment you walk through the door. He has a unique ability to break things down in a way that’s easy to understand, no matter your age or experience level.. I highly recommend anyone looking to stay active and learn something new to come try out this school. You won’t regret it...
