Albuquerque Aikikai is amazing. Having studied Aikido years ago, i checked out various ABQ Aikido schools before joining. Now, after a year, I feel i made the right choice. Okuyama Sensei is wise, funny, and a great teacher. With 45 years of Aikido under his 7th degree belt, he is absolutely graceful and yet tough as nails. Dojo members are a great bunch of all ages--friendly, welcoming, thoughtful, strong, and fun to work out with. As a fit(ish) 50-year-old getting into martial arts again, I was nervous. But the dojo's emphasis on proper technique, safety and respect have made this an extremely valuable (and fun) experience. (And, I'm in much better shape now, which is good because dojo barbecues are awesome.) Wish I'd joined Albuquerque Aikikai sooner.
