Been attending Wa Shin Ryu jujutsu at Sandia Budokan since 2018 and love it. The dojo has enough space that classes never feel crowded, and each of the instructors always has useful advice on technique. The authenticity and attention to detail here are second to none.

The Sandia Budokan is an excellent dojo that is home to fantastic traditional martial arts. The price is good and fair, the quality of the classes and the people are exceptional, and the location is very central in Albuquerque and easy to get to. I could not recommend it more for someone wanting to try out a new martial art.

I’ve studied Wa Shin Ryu jujutsu at Sandia Budokan for the past two years and highly recommend both this dojo, and the instruction I have received. Wa Shin Ryu places heavy emphasis on traditional Japanese practices, and incorporates deeper philosophies in a way that I have not experienced in any other martial arts training. The dojo itself is spacious, beautiful, has a nice changing room, and is across the street from UNM.

The overall level of instruction and professionalism is way beyond the standard level for martial arts clubs. The level of instruction and value to students is, I feel, also well above normal. The art of traditional Japanese jujutsu is well-suited to modern day self defense, and is particularly good for personal protection and fitness. I have been to more than a dozen martial arts schools, and this one is clearly at the top. The atmosphere is friendly, but the serious martial artist can also find a home here. Whether you are looking for fitness, learning, self defense, or even preparation for future competition, this is an amazing and well-rounded school for everyone. And the instructors couldn't be better!!
