reviewsWhat Members Say

Members frequently praise the welcoming, diverse community and the high-quality instruction, particularly from Professor Pete in BJJ classes. Many describe the gym as life-changing and appreciate how instructors help them achieve personal fitness goals. However, some kickboxing participants find the workouts excessively intense and poorly adapted for different fitness levels, while one reviewer reported significant frustration with billing and membership cancellation processes. The front desk and fellow students are generally noted as helpful and friendly.

Amazing place to train, you can achieve all you fitness goals here to practice and participate in a tournament. Instructors are friendly and will help you according to your goals. There's an outgoing offer which allows you to take 3 classes in $19.99. they also loan you gloves so you dont have to buy them incase you are not sure about continuing (get your own handwraps).

Professor Pete and BMA changed my life. It’s rare to find a training environment with such a diverse and welcoming cast of instructors and students. At BMA, you get to train with and learn from musicians, programmers, city employees, teachers, doctors, artists, and everything in between. Professor Pete draws on decades of knowledge and a deep love of martial arts in his teaching. Billy’s morning class is excellent, as is Boom’s Sunday class and then open mat. I began training in 2019 and I plan to practice BJJ as long as I can get out of bed and make it to the gym. I’ve since moved out of Brooklyn but will always remember my time at BMA. Osu!

Best decision I’ve made in my whole entire life, was joining this school. As of this review I am only 3 lessons, going on 4 for BJJ and I’m loving everything about this school. The instructor’s (Professor for me), the front desk is awesome and the fellow students are more than welcoming and helping as I navigate the ropes of learning. I just love the experience and new forged friendships.

Kickboxing is brutal. It’s torture. I think trainers don’t know how to read trainees. I used to go to Regopark studio and it was amazing. I was always excited and happy to go there. Now I’m scared to go here. Every person has different levels of fitness and experiences. I think coaches should read the crowd and adjust the plan according to it. I am not a teenage anymore. And jumping ??? I cannot do that. If the class is almost full, they put us through harsh routines and I feel like they enjoy to see us suffering instead of coaching. You can say I am a cry baby. Yes I am. I do these for mobility and overall general health. Not to become an MMA fighter. I’m not high on supplements and normal human being has a limit especially for someone like me who is almost 40s. So as long as I enjoy moving, I am fine. And I believe I speak for many people especially who want to try out. Now I’m scared of these jumping and harsher routine that I don’t even want to show up anymore. So what is the point. I want to enjoy and it is not letting me. Guys, if u live in Queens, please join Regopark studio. It is amazing.

My boyfriend took ONE CLASS here. ONE. And I used my debit card to pay for the membership and for the past two months, they've been charging me $90. They barely respond to their emails and once they FINALLY did, they said there is a 30-day notice for canceling. LET'S USE OUR BRAINS FOR A SECOND. CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP. STOP SCAMMING AND STEALING MY MONEY. DO YOU THINK I HAVE $90 TO SPEND ON AIR????!!!!! THE CLASS WASN'T EVEN THAT GOOD.
