PSABJJ has become my second home! When I turned 40, my midlife crisis took charge and I decided to face my fears and insecurities and try something new and challenging, both physically and mentally. For some reason that was BJJ. And PSABJJ could not have been a more perfect place to get started. Coaches Crocilla and Adami are kind and welcoming and they have created a warm and cooperative community here. Two years in, I’m at the school everyday for class, whether for BJJ or Muay Thai. I love the physical and mental challenges I’m presented with on a daily basis but also just love chatting with all of the great people at the school! Can’t recommend this school enough, whether you’re young or old, in great shape or in need of physical improvement, it’s a wonderful place for all!

Been coming here for 5 years and the coaches here are second to none. Very welcoming environment and is easy to make this a part of your workout or self defense routine. The other students really make this school a great community to train with. I highly recommend this school!

I've been training at Park Slope Academy for the past two years and cannot speak highly enough about it. The professors Steven and Marc come from excellent jiu jitsu lineages and are both extremely knowledgeable while also being clear, helpful teachers. The younger coaches are polite and responsible young men. Most importantly, the community and gym culture are welcoming, friendly and respectful. This is a gym where training partners take care of one another. I regularly roll with partners who have up to 100 pounds on me and have great rounds. Most importantly this gym truly feels like a community. In any given class you can roll with an artist, a lawyer, a programmer and a tugboat captain, all helping each other improve their games. It's a uniquely inclusive space, and I value the community as highly as I do the jiu jitsu I've learned.

I can’t say enough good things about this dojo. As a black belt in judo with over 10 years of training and competitive experience, I decided to take on jiu-jitsu, and I couldn’t have found a better place to start. The senseis are incredibly welcoming, humble, and extremely knowledgeable. The class structure is both fun and beginner-friendly, especially if you’re new to the sport. I also love that they offer women’s training sessions—this kind of inclusivity is so important. I feel so lucky to be part of this community. If you’re on the fence about joining, take this as your sign to #justdoit!

Absolutely love this place! Moved to Brooklyn in June 2022 with the intention to start my journey in BJJ. PSABJJ had by far the best honest reviews it seemed and after training for 5 months at this academy I can say that reviews are well deserved and yet still don’t do it justice. The environment and family that the professors have created is exactly what is needed and missing in many gyms today. I can’t thank them and recommend them enough!
