I had the pleasure of visiting Unity Jiu-Jitsu in NYC for their open mat this past weekend, and I have to say it was an excellent experience. The gym itself is clean, well-maintained, and has a welcoming atmosphere. A lot of people showed up, making for a variety of great rolls, and everyone I encountered was respectful and friendly. Being able to train at such a legendary school was a memorable experience. The level of talent in the room was impressive, but the vibe was still approachable and supportive. A friend and coach of mine, Suleyman, who trains at Unity, recommended I check it out. If you’re in NYC and looking for top-tier training in a respectful and professional setting, I highly recommend giving Unity a visit—whether it’s for an open mat, a class, or just to soak in the atmosphere of a world-renowned gym.

I was visiting New York on holiday and stumbled across unity Jiu Jitsu school. Professor Murilo Santana welcomed me in and allowed me to spectate their mid morning training which was amazing in itself. I was then invited to come and train again at any other time. I struggled for time while on holiday but they were so accommodating and even had a gi for me to hire so I could participate. Sebastian was an incredible teacher and made me feel very welcome. The room is full of quality practitioners and it’s easy to understand why. I hope to be back when I visit from Australia in the future, if you can, I’d absolutely take the opportunity to train with these guys, one of the best rooms I’ve ever been in. Blue belt from Australia 👌
