I have trained at Workshop for a little over a year and it has been a great experience. All of the instructors I have worked with across both Jiujitsu and Muay Thai (Jin, Gianna, Chris, Rich, Jackson) are all incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. The overall community and attitude at Workshop is also very welcoming and friendly which is what really sets this gym apart from the rest. I feel very safe when training with all of my partners and I am confident that everyone has the mindset of improving their skills without letting any ego get in the way. There are plenty of classes for every skill level and I personally recommend this gym to all of my friends when they are looking for somewhere to train.

My 5 year old son loves training Brazilian jujitsu here. The teachers are kind, professional, and inspiring. We also love that the school has a strong sense of community. Highly recommend!

Workshop is an exceptional gym and an excellent place to start or continue training jiu-jitsu. The culture of the gym is a perfect blend of serious study with a healthy dose of humor and fun. Not an ego in sight. Jin is a passionate and patient instructor, and the other instructors follow in his footsteps. Great facilities/clean lockers/showers. I’ve trained at gyms in LA, NYC, Des Moines, Boulder, Sioux Falls, London, Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris, and Workshop NYC is top-of-the-line instruction and community.

I've been (mostly) consistently training at Workshop Gym for almost a year now, and it’s honestly been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Not only is it an incredible workout, but the focus on proper technique and form really sets it apart from other gyms. Even when classes are full, the instructors manage to give everyone individual attention—you're never left wondering if you're doing something wrong. What I appreciate most is the environment. The community is super friendly and supportive. As someone who’s naturally introverted and not the most social person, I’ve never once felt out of place or pressured. No egos, no cliques—just people showing up to train and have a good time. The instructors all have their own unique teaching styles, but they follow a consistent curriculum, so you're always progressing. Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to seriously train, this place makes space for every type of person and every level. Also, I’ve lost over 16 pounds since joining, so the results speak for themselves! Highly recommend Workshop to anyone looking to learn Muay Thai, get in shape, or just try something new in a welcoming space.

I took a drop in Muay Thai class and received so much good feedback from the coach. I hope to come back around soon, but an overall positive environment. If you come in with the willingness to learn, you will gain a lot of knowledge. Just an updated review as of July 2025 - I came back around for another drop in class, this time taking the beginner pad work session. Despite having some past experience, the coach kept me in tune, providing a lot of instruction, helping me regulate my power and maintain pace. I’ve been on and off the heavy bag, in and out of a number of gyms for the past three years; this gym has taught me more about Muay Thai and general striking technique than any of the others. Definitely consider their classes, it’s a friendly and challenging environment.
