Just joined Mushin Jiu Jitsu and couldn’t be happier with the experience so far. Tony and Nick are knowledgeable and great at making new members feel comfortable from day one. The whole community has been super welcoming and informative. The location in Union Square is super convenient, the gym is clean, and the class schedule works really well. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re looking to get into BJJ!

Mushin is such a great gym for hobbyist and aspiring killers alike. Tony takes such good care of his students and works with them to reach their goals whether it’s get in shape and learn self defense or be a serious competitor. It is friendly, approachable, and has one of the best spaces in the city. Nick is also just such a wealth of knowledge and is one of the best jiu jitsu minds on the east coast. Can’t go wrong training here!

I’ve been a member for over a year now. When I moved to NYC from the UK, I tried 4–5 recommended spots, Mushin stood out by some distance. It really offers everything: a world-class well-mixed program, world-class coaches who care, a great balance of drilling, positional work, and open sparring, plus a comprehensive schedule. Most importantly for me, they emphasise safety before every open rolling session - something I really care about having had bad experiences in the past. I’ve recommended Mushin to two friends, they’re now members. I’d highly recommend Mushin to all levels of BJJ, especially if you’re thinking about getting started - trial it out!

As someone who had been doing martial arts most of my life, I must say Mushin Mixed Martial Arts, located in Union Square is the best place I have ever trained at. I have been training here since 2014, Initially was doing striking privates which turned into a Jiu Jitsu journey where I started as white belt and and received my black belt in 2022. Exceptional instruction here, the black belt to student ratio is fantastic, so if you are new, there is always a coach within 10 feet willing to help you improve. There are fitness classes twice a day as well. Clean and safe environment to train. Tony and Nick are top notch and Patrick has your fitness needs covered as well. Come visit us for an introductory class. You won't regret it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I recently got back into Jiu-Jitsu, and when it was time to find an instructor, I knew exactly who to go to. I have known Sensei Tony from years back at John Danahers classes in the "blue basement"—he is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to grappling and he explains concepts in a way anyone can understand. By training under him, you’ll become well-equipped both on your feet and on the ground. I would highly recommend his classes at Mushin to anyone looking to learn high-level Jiu-Jitsu. Note: the gym is kept very clean and organized, which I love!
