I had a very good experience at my first introductory naginata class. The instructors and my classmates were very kind and patient and provided a welcoming environment that quickly eased my nervousness. I can't wait for my next class, thank you!

Had a wonderful introduction class to Kyudo with Mitch, Alexis, and Sensei. I felt very comfortable and appreciated the wonderful sense of humor from the staff. It's incredible how much mindfulness it takes moving from stance to stance while maintaining balance to get into position to shoot the arrow. You really get the sense that this is an art form and to perfect it you need to be fully focused on each movement. It truly is a beautiful form of meditation. I really look forward to continuing my practice every week.

I've trained at NY Budo Association for over 2 years and found nothing but instructors and classmates who are serious about training, preserving the Ryushin Shouchi Ryu history and most of all dedicated to each other. The people here genuinely care for your success and in some ways feels like a place of belonging and acceptance, a second home for people looking to connect to a special form of martial arts.

NYBA offers top tier, traditional iaito training. The instructors are very knowledgeable and patient with new students. I also enjoy that new and experienced students often work together. Highly recommend.
