Absolutely loved this Jiu-Jitsu class. Walking in, the first thing I noticed was how peaceful and welcoming the energy felt. Everyone from the instructors to the students was genuinely kind, patient, and supportive. You can tell it’s a space where people go not just to train, but to grow, learn, and feel safe. The environment is super clean, organized, and full of positive energy. Even if you’re new, you never feel judged or out of place in here!! They guide you step by step, make you feel confident, and the atmosphere encourages you to push yourself in the best way. Honestly, it’s one of those places that leaves you feeling lighter, stronger, and mentally clearer when you walk out after. Highly recommend the vibe here is unmatched!

Great gym! Clean, very bright, fancy! I am happy I had the opportunity to train there. I was visiting from Europe and also tried some other gyms, but this one definitely stood out. Congrats to brothers Miyao for turning this place into a great academy where everyone is welcomed to learn from them. I will definitely come back! Thank you! OSS!

I came to Studio 1908 because my old training partner said “You gotta see this place !” So, of course I had to see what he (a 10+ year BJJ practitioner), was so excited about. WOW, he was 100% right. Words & pictures are beautiful, but they don’t do justice to describe this BJJ Academy ! I’ve been around a lot of Jiujitsu academies over my last 8 years and I can see why my old training partner is so happy & hyped about Studio 1908. It truly is a top-tier, high level Jiujitsu school that has an amazing vibe. The instructors are welcoming, humble, World Champion Professors teaching on the mat, you are going to learn excellent Jiujitsu technique from these men. The location is clean & beautiful, and the training schedule that they offer makes it easy to be consistent. This place is Hi-Level… He was right, you gotta see this place !

I just had my first class there yesterday, and speaking from experience—as someone who actually managed a jiu-jitsu school myself for many years and just retired—I can confidently say that these guys are top-notch. Professional is the word that comes to mind. They offer an incredible number of classes, so you can never say that the schedule doesn’t work for you. The instructors were not only cordial and nice but also highly knowledgeable. I really loved how they kept members on task with drilling. If you’re brand new, you are allowed to talk to your partner, but keep drilling because they will notice and redirect you back to drilling. Not an authoritarian way but more like let’s go. Let’s keep going type of way which is very motivational and encouraging. They really wanna make sure you get a good workout in. The same goes for the community members. I met some of the nicest people in New Jersey in that room. I really came in to check the vibe because I might move to Jersey City, and if I do, it would definitely be for this place. I was not disappointed with the level of jiujitsu being taught there. You can’t go wrong training jiu-jitsu here if you’re a beginner. The facility is super clean, and they also offer striking, which is awesome. I didn’t do that part of it, but they had a big team, which is great because you want a lot of training partners. Some schools, barely have any. I watched their whole class and it looked very organized to me. They even had really green people working on the side on specific drills, which is great for a beginner. I loved seeing that. The best part is that the Miyao brothers are genuinely very involved in the school. If you want to train with them and their world-class athletes, this is your chance. Don’t miss it. Right now they are still welcoming visiting practitioners for a very reasonable drop in fee, just be respectful. Big thanks to the coach Byron who was teaching. Loved meeting that guy. Thanks for intentionally holding back in our rolls together because I needed that lol. Will definitely be back. Thanks for having me!

This is our absolute favorite place for jiu-jitsu! My child has truly fallen in love with the sport thanks to the amazing team here. The coaches are kind, structured, and incredibly approachable — creating a sense of confidence and safety that kids really respond to. The whole environment is warm and welcoming. There’s a strong feeling of mutual respect in every class, and no pressure around belts or unhealthy competitiveness. All the kids seem to genuinely enjoy being there, and my child always looks forward to class. The space is also great for parents — there’s a comfortable area to wait, or you can use the gym and get in a workout while your child trains. We’re so grateful to have found this place and highly recommend it to any family looking for a thoughtful, positive martial arts experience.
