Charlotte ki Aikido is an authentic dojo to learn this Japanese martial art. Matthew Attarian Sensei lived and trained for five years in Japan as a very close student of some of the best teachers. You will develop in so many ways.

Really enjoyed my ki aikido learning experience with Attarian sensei! The class was fun and I learned a lot. Attarian sensei is very adaptable and flexible, so when teaching new moves or strenuous training, he is able to lead the class and give great experience for both the fit people and less fit/newer people (like me lol). I am really looking forward to the next class!

I have personal experience with Matthew Attarian, who is the trainer at this dojo but also the Head Instructor at the dojo in Greenville, both are are part of the Ki-Aikido Society. Matthew has extensive experience in Aikido, trained for many years in Japan and understands the culture and philosophy of this Japanese art. He also has a very unique gift to explain the various techniques to beginner as well as to experienced students. There are not many places in the US where you have such an accomplished sensei, so I would highly recommend to check it out. Aikido is not just a Japanese martial art, it is an attitude towards life! The techniques are the tool, harmony is the goal.

My teenager daughter and I have been taking Aikido classes here for about a couple of months now. I was looking for an activity to do with my daughter and this is a great way to spend time with her, build self-confidence, and train for self-defense. The sensei is great and provides one-on-one instruction.

I have attended many in person and online classes with Attarian Sensei. He is a very knowledgeable and talented instructor with a great deal of experience including years of training in Japan. I would highly recommend any opportunity to train and learn Ki Aikido with Attarian sensei.
