PowerHouse Karate

PowerHouse Karate has been an incredible experience for my daughter. From the very first class, she was energized and empowered — it's amazing to see how much confidence she has gained. The discipline and structure of the program are exactly what we were looking for, and the respect they teach is evident in every interaction. The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, and it's clear that the students are truly cared for. Mr. Watts, the owner and head instructor, is exceptional — passionate, dedicated, and truly inspiring. I can't recommend Power House enough for any parent looking to help their child grow both physically and mentally.

LOVED the women’s self defense class hosted by Master Watts and his team. We celebrated my sisters bday with this women’s self defense class. We had a blast and learned a ton! My niece loves it here, and we are considering enrolling our family.

I recently attended the Women’s Self-Defense Seminar at Powerhouse Karate with my mom, daughter, sisters, and friends, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Master Watts was extremely informative, patient, and genuinely caring throughout the entire seminar. He focused not only on physical self-defense techniques, but also on the importance of awareness, prevention, and personal safety for women. What truly stood out was that Master Watts even had his family help with the training, which made the seminar feel very family-oriented, welcoming, and supportive. It created a comfortable learning environment where everyone felt encouraged, respected, and empowered. My daughter is also a student at Powerhouse Karate and absolutely loves it there. She has so much respect for Master Watts, and as a parent, I truly appreciate the positive influence, discipline, and confidence he instills in his students. I give Powerhouse Karate a 5-star review for its excellent martial arts training and the invaluable Women’s Self-Defense Seminar. Highly recommend to families and anyone looking for quality instruction in a caring, community-focused environment.

This was the BEST birthday party I’ve ever been to. It flowed so well from start to finish! Anthony was amazing with the kids and even my 2 year old was able to participate in everything with the 9 year olds! He made everyone feel so welcome and engaged. I will be coming back for an adult self-defense birthday party.

We had our son’s 10th birthday at Powerhouse Karate in Waxhaw and it was hands down one of the easiest and fun parties we’ve ever done. They handled EVERYTHING. From the second we walked in, Master Watts took over and kept the kids engaged, moving, and having an absolute blast. It was high energy but super organized (which is saying a lot with a room full of 10-year-olds). The surprise was pulled off perfectly and they made him feel so special without making it awkward or overwhelming. The kids loved playing, breaking boards, and cheering each other on. It was fun, structured, and confidence-boosting all at the same time. The facility was clean, the owner, Anthony Watts, was amazing, and we as parents actually got to enjoy the party instead of running it. Several parents told me on the way out it was one of the best parties their kids have been to. If you’re even thinking about booking a party here — do it. So grateful for the memories they created for Wilson’s big 10!
