Toma Dojo - True Karate

This dojo cultivates an excellent atmosphere of learning and self-discipline. Sensei Philip is exceptional; his keen observation ensures every student's development is recognized and fostered. A safe and inclusive space is created through a collaborative environment where senior students guide junior ranks under his direction. My child has shown significant improvement in focus and self-assurance, while as an adult, I have found it to be an ideal place for managing stress and personal growth.

My oldest daughter started taking karate at Toma Dojo during the summer of 2009. Shortly after, Sensei Phil convinced me that I should join into a class. I never looked back. Now all 4 of our family members are learning, and we couldn't be happier. We are healthier, more confident and most important to me, karate has given me and my daughters a way to relate and spend time together.

My son was interested in karate for a very long time. Now at his age we felt he was ready to begin. The sensei here is absolutely amazing. Its great to bring your child to a place where you can see someone who has so much passion in what he teaches along with how much he cares about his students. If you are looking for a great environment, a wonderful teacher, and a family this is the place to bring your child.

Sensi Phillip is amazing! He is an excellent instructor. He works just as well with my 8 year old daughter as he does with her 40 year old mom. He has an ability to guage each of his students individually yet still work with everyone in a group. He is encouraging yet firm. The dojo provides a wonderful environment for learning. I am so glad we found Toma Dojo.

I can't say enough good things about Toma Dojo. Sensei Philip is a genuine person who you feel lives and breathes what he is teaching. He is an excellent role model and teacher to his students. Is respectful and tough, understanding but demands great things and does not settle. My son has been with him since June..we relocated and really wanted a dojo similar to our previous...Toma Dojo was beyond my expectations. My son is learning focus, patience, self control, confidence and becoming stronger by the week. I am so thankful for being apart of Toma Dojo. It is real karate and highly recommended. PS-if you are looking for your child to just advance in belts quickly this is not the place. You child will earn it at there pace...something they will truly be proud of when they get there!
