Started going here 6 months ago as an overweight 40+ year old. A super supportive and low stress environment to learn a new lifelong low impact sport, get in shape and form friendships. Coach Mike is very knowledgeable and, more importantly, a excellent instructor. If you are waiting for the right time or thinking you need to get in shape first don't, just join. BJJ as it is presented here is self paced and allows you to stay in and expand your own comfort zone. My only regret is not joining sooner. One of Ostrander's hidden gems.

Great gym to train at for kids and adults. BJJ is challenging and fun and Mike makes it very enjoyable. Great instructor and awesome at making adjustments to techniques to make it work for a wide array of people. I have three kids in the kids class and they LOVE coming to class (and practicing at home between classes). Mike always has time to field questions and tries to make sure everyone is comfortable before moving on. He answers questions without making the asker feel dumb for asking the question. That seems simple, but not every instructor masters this like Mike. Very impressed with his knowledge and patience!

My family knows Coach Mike on both a personal and professional level. His knowledge and professionalism is outstanding. Better yet, he is kind, entertaining, fantastic with kids of ALL ages, honorable and is a true TEACHER. We appreciate Coach Mike and his entire family. What a treat to have his BJJ school right here in Ostrander!

Coach Mike shows more attention and dedication to each individual student than I've seen from any other instructor. From the first day, it is obvious that he cares about his students and has a deep passion for teaching BJJ. He will make you feel right at home even if you're a complete beginner. If you've ever wanted to get into a sport/hobby/martial art, then give the free trial a try and see if it's right for you. :)

Mike is a wonderful coach with a hands-on approach and patient spirit. Mike has created an environment for learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that welcomes and challenges all levels of experience. Whether it’s your first class or you’ve been practicing for years, Mike brings years of experience, enthusiasim, and patience that keeps you wanting to return and learn. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has and continues to help me grow both in the sport & as a person. I am happy to call Mike my coach and 4Point Base my home for learning all that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has to offer.
