I dropped in for a Saturday open mat and by the time I left, I could tell Triumph is a great place to train. All the members were very welcoming and awesome training partners. The owner Dan is very knowledgeable, took the time to roll with me, and even GENIUNELY provided instruction on where I could improve. You RARELY see that at an open mat. The facility has great mat space and was extremely clean. I highly recommend Triumph if you're looking for a place to train in Columbus.

This gym is truly great for women, kids, and men—which sounds like a tall order, but it’s absolutely true. I’ve been attending for about six months, and my husband and kids (ages 6–13) for over a year. Before joining, we asked around, and everyone pointed us here. The instructors have an impressive lineage if that matters to you, but it’s the welcoming culture and consistent quality that keep us coming back. As a woman, I’ve found these types of gyms can feel intimidating, but here I’ve never felt that way. Every class I’ve attended has had other women, and the instructors create an encouraging environment that focuses on teaching, not punishing. They balance experienced coaches with new instructors in training, so classes are rarely, if ever, canceled. For kids, the emphasis on conditioning, fundamentals, and fun is perfect. It’s one of the few activities my kids never complain about attending. They’ve learned to listen, push themselves, and are paired with others of similar size and ability, which builds both skills and confidence. For men, the level of instruction and competition is next-level. The training focuses on helping you be your best without any sense of prejudice against newcomers. Everyone is happy to roll with anyone, and they coach each other along the way—which is invaluable when you’re consistently getting pushed to improve. What really stands out beyond the training is the sense of community. People genuinely look out for each other, celebrate progress, and form friendships that make the gym feel like a second home. Whether it’s kids encouraging each other, adults swapping stories after class, or families connecting, the atmosphere is supportive and fun. Finally, I want to highlight the fitness aspect. I already box, run, row, and lift, but this workout challenges me on another level. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the gym, the owner, and the experience. -- and clean!! they spray the mats down after every class and have a cleaner come in multiple times a week.

Visiting from San Diego, California my 8 and 10 year old loved the class. Coach Charlie and Coach Khoi are exceptional teachers with the kids. Kept the class interested and focused for the entire hour. They welcomed us with open arms and asked us to come train anytime we were in town. Thank you Triumph and Coaches for a great Jiu Jitsu experience! OSS!

My children have been at this gym for almost a year now. Coach Dan and his team are absolutely amazing. They are so patient and kind as well as understanding with all the kids and their different ages/skills levels. Coach Dan really takes the time to comfort the kids if they are having a tough day and he also knows how to push them to their limits. I appreciate the growth my children have shown this last year and I am looking forward to seeing them progress even more. Thank you so much Coach Dan. You may not hear it enough, but you are truly appreciated 🙏
