I've been a member here since 2014 and can't recommend it highly enough. Suzane Sensei is attentive and supportive to everyone, and the dojo community is welcoming to anyone who comes to train, from first-time beginners to lifelong Aikidoists.

I've done Aikido for about 15 years, and when I moved to Portland a few years ago, I joined Multnomah Aikikai. The community here is so supportive and friendly. Not only is there great training, but I've also felt extremely supported off the mat by dojo members. There are many places to do Aikido in Portland, but for me Multnomah is the best fit because of the strong focus on safe body movement, training hard, and developing awareness.

I have been practicing here for several years. Multnomah Aikikai is under the Birankai organization with strong connections to other dojos, a very active core membership, and a rich history in Portland. It's good for both beginners and those with martial arts experienced who are interested in aikido, iaido, and/or wooden weapons work.

I started Aikido here about four months ago and have really enjoyed the martial arts, self-discipline, and community. It helps me release stress and stay more focused and present in everyday life. The community is warm, and everyone supports each other with the utmost respect. The instructors and members are always encouraging and help you improve along the way. I highly recommend this dojo!
