This was my home gym for about a year. It is filled with great people and a friendly atmosphere. I was nervous to go at first, but after dropping in for a class I was hooked. The instructors are passionate and will spend the time to help you learn. They used to be called Portland Judo and renamed due to ownership change. It’s still run by the same instructors and the vibe is the same. It’s thanks to them that I nurtured a love for the sport and I will always be grateful.

An awesome community to learn Judo and make amazing friends. People cross train BJJ and compete in Kata competitions, so this school has lots of cross pollination of technical know-how and experience. The adult class accomodates a wide range of skill levels and age groups, so it's easy to fit in as a hobbyist as well as prepare for competitions. Overall, a very well-rounded school with patient instructors and welcoming students.

Great classic Dojo, I took my 6 yo here for the kids class: they immediately came over and stuck her in a loaner Gi and put her in the class (even though we were late), she was the youngest there and an assistant instructor (who happens to be a top ranked competitor) spent the entire class 1/1 with my daughter bringing her up to speed. It was a very welcoming group of people and we signed her up right away. The Gi’s are available to purchase fairly priced at $50. Fair price, good instruction. Classic and competent Judo instruction is hard to find- but this is it. They cater well to children of all development levels and treat each person individually and with respect.
