Eastside Kettlebell Collective has great classes and knowledgeable trainers. I was new to kettlebells and hinges, but Eloise and Felecia took the time to point out proper techniques. They (and other trainers) really paid attention and were patient as I began working out; they corrected my movements, as I'd asked them to do. Now, months later, I feel the difference. EKC's programming is serious (fun) business. The workouts constantly kick my ass. No joke. I'm learning and becoming stronger. This, augmented by a good (respectful, supportive, nonjudging) community and excellent instructors, keeps me coming back.

Hands down the best gym in Portland! Amazing coaches and instructors who genuinely care about you and your progress. They’re all so great at meeting you wherever you are and letting you define what progress means for you and your body 👌 I also love their focus on community! I’ve made so many friends though my membership there, truly feels like a family💗

The perfect neighborhood gym for those looking for class-based learning (and for those that want to workout on their own, the "open gym" option is great too). I started working out here 6 months ago with zero kettlebell skills and, thanks to the great instructors, fun classes, and supportive community, I'm now getting in 3-5 regular workouts a week.

My husband and I have been members of this fabulous gym for three years and counting. The gym community is welcoming and unpretentious. Memberships include classes facilitated by supportive and knowledgeable trainers seven days a week, along with open gym opportunities almost daily. I have never liked going to the gym, but at 65, started going to EKC and love it. I am stronger, working on increasing bone density and balance, and appreciate all the things this women-owned, inclusive gym gives back to the community. Added bonus: it is very close to great bus lines and there is ample parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

My doctor had advised adding resistance exercise to my life to promote healthy aging. That sounded boring and awful. I have always hated gyms. Even when I was running marathons in my youth I would do anything to avoid spending time in the gym. I decided to try EKC because it was women owned and inclusive. Best decision ever! I have never thought of EKC as a gym; it’s a community. Obviously the focus is on heathy fitness but the owners, Eloise and Felicia, are deeply committed to promoting inclusivity and social justice. That level of caring is felt throughout. If you’ve never lifted a kettlebell in your life or you need a refresher, the Kettlebell 101 class is for you- small, slower paced, focused on the basics to ensure that you can safely and enjoyably participate in class. If you’re already an athlete, they offer classes that will challenge you and strengthen your performance in your sport. I’ve been a member for 2 years. Being at EKC is a high point in my day- I love kettlebell and the people I’ve met there. What’s amazing to me is that I have a higher level of overall fitness and strength (for my age) than I did 30 years ago when I ran Boston. Thank you Eloise and Felicia! ❤️
