I trained at Enso Jiu Jitsu for the last 5 months and have nothing but positive things to say! I went into this having no prior martial arts/wrestling experience. Toshi, Ryan, Hans, and the other instructors are all patient both in class and in sparring. That said, they also do well at holding me accountable to challenge myself which helps learning. The Jiu Jitsu community cultivated here is amazing as well. Most members you run into are friendly and can meet you at your skill level especially if you are newer. Strong progress mindset here. I would definitely recommend Enso if you are looking to pick up Jiu Jitsu and wish to do so with an uplifting group of people.

I recently returned to training after several years off the mats. If there is a place worse than being rusty that’s where I was at. The instructors and students were all very welcoming and patient at Enso Jiu Jitsu Portland. You have access to multiple black belt instructors and many of the Bridgetown Judo members (located at same building) cross-train with Enso which adds to the instruction and experience. If you want community, great instruction and a safe place to train you can’t go wrong with Enso Jiu Jitsu Portland.

I've recently started training at Enso Jiu Jitsu and am so happy! What a wonderful place to learn. Whether I'm working with a sensei or with another student, I always feel safe and know there's someone nearby who's going to help me improve my technique. The community is kind, patient, and as a beginner you'll never feel left behind. As someone with no prior experience I would recommend anyone at any level to come join! Toshi is a wonderful teacher and I'm grateful every class that I met him.

Amazing group of people. Huge gym, they offer judo as well as BJJ at this location. They have one of the BEST open mats on Sunday from 7-9. MULTIPLE black belts each specializing in something deadly. Very close community. The type of people you can train with and grab a bite to eat after. Highly recommend this gym.

Came across Enso while visiting Portland this past summer and I dropped into a class after emailing them. The members and coaches were very friendly and the classes were very informative. I came back to Enso while visiting later in the fall and had a great time. Would highly recommend visiting or training here.
