I was so excited when I came across Femme Rising for the first time last year. After several years of searching for true self defence training and not being able to find the right fit… finally I found it! Since then, I’ve taken many self defence classes with Kiyo as well as a private lesson and I LOVE it. It’s a supportive, welcoming & beautiful space. The instruction is clear, fun and thoughtful. They also do jiu-jitsu and kick boxing. The mission is very clear, empower women and girls through Femme Rising coaching πŸ’›

10/10 experience! I tried out 2 different classes- Women’s Self Defense + Fitness and Kickboxing. Kiyo and Rei were super welcoming! When my friend and I walked in, they even had a personalized welcome for us! I went into both classes knowing nothing, but I left class feeling educated and empowered. Rei even showed me how to wrap my hands for the first time during the kickboxing class. Will definitely be coming back :)

I had a great experience. The space is beautiful and clean, and all the students are super friendly and welcoming! This space is so much less intimidating than other gyms in town. I am hoping to come back as soon as possible. The teachers explain everything in a way that is easy to understand, even with different learning styles.

I have been a member here since Femme Rising opened. This is such an amazing space for women and Femme identifying persons to come learn jujitsu, self-defense, kickboxing, yoga, etc. The space is GORGEOUS, and the staff and community are so empowering, supportive, inviting, and encouraging. They have kids, and teenage classes as well. I LOVE this place!!! Cannot rate it high enough! ❀️❀️❀️

This place is truly amazing. I have taken 3 self defense classes so far and they are so valuable. The instructors are trauma-informed and seem like they really know what they are teaching through formal training and research. Plus the classes are still really fun. The studio is absolutely beautiful, perfectly clean, I wish I could live there. I have never though I could enjoy martial arts but I will definitely be returning for more classes and highly recommend everyone to try.
