Ketzal Martial Arts

My 7yr old has been doing karate here for about a month and already seeing huge improvements with his ability to sit still during class time at school and handling transitions and new chore routine. He gets a great workout, is learning patience & discipline and building his confidence and core strength! He can’t wait to earn his stripes on his belt. Highly recommend this studio

My kids are just starting out with this but so far it's been great! Already seeing more disciplined behaviors, and instructor Eisman, also the owner, I believe, is excellent with how she talks to, teaches, corrects and models the motions and poses for the kids. Looking forward to more, and an updated review to follow once we've had more experience with Tang Soo Do at Ketzal! Oh, and not to be forgotten: This was the first time my son set down his video game without upset first; in fact, he was excited about going, and that was only on his second class, so they hadn't even gotten to the good stuff yet!! I attribute this to (yes, the novelty, AND) the neat things they're learning, the opportunity for fun physical movement that channels his energy without getting him into trouble, and the structure and respect woven into each session (Ms. Eisman: [Explanation of challenge]; Yes? Class: Yes, ma'am!). So far it's a highly recommend.

My son and I love Ketzal martial arts!! Mrs Eiseman is the nicest most patient person I have ever met. She coaches the kids and gives them easy to follow instructions. My son has been going there for a month or two now and he is now saying “yes, mam” to me at home. I had no idea that karate would play such a big role in teaching my son what respect means and how he can use it to be successful in life. He even says yes mam to his teachers. I couldn’t be more proud of him!

Was looking for a female instructor to teach my kiddo some martial arts. Even better, it’s female, BIPOC owned. My kid has grown in strength and confidence with this program, in the 3 months they have attended. The owner/instructor is fantastic with kids. They are tough but fair and kind (which I like). We go twice a week and the classes have enough variation to keep kids engaged but enough consistency to help them improve. We are extremely pleased with Ketzal martial arts and will continue with this great program.

So far, my daughter has only been to one class, but to see improvements after only one class is incredible! I can tell this isn't just about learning self-defense, but also about controlling emotions, responsibility, respect, and so forth. The instructor took her time to get a feel for my daughter's starting place and had so much patience, while at the same time giving clear instructions. Highly recommended! Will update this post in a few weeks with updates.
