No Limit Pro Karate has been a great place for my son to grow and gain confidence. He looks forward to every class. All of the teachers are wonderful and the owner is an awesome guy. My son has learned so much, the investment has been totally worth it!

I highly recommend these guys. Mr. Harper has been nothing but amazing with my daughter. She is only 3, but he allowed her to start a year early and is loving it! In only a few classes, she is picking up the skills he is teaching her and is always asking me when is "barate". I would give them more stars if Google let me!

We signed up for 2x weekly classes. Our first class after we paid, we learned that Harper the owner doesn’t do the actual instruction. He has a maybe 9 year old purple belt do them. Harper doesn’t stay on the mat with them or help communicate how to move the body and left it entirely to the kid. Looking back, Harper was always in every day clothes with tennis shoes and never in any karate uniform. My experience during the first class was that this kid could not effectively communicate to my son how to place his body for stances. Not only that but most of the 30 min class was only stretches and warm up. Harper after 30 min asked my son if he wanted to stay longer, he did. Harper started to involve himself at this point and started to ask my son to show him positions that they didn’t really learn. Harper showed frustration and lack of teaching. I thought maybe it would have worked better for him to show the kids these positions with his own body and then help the kids move their body but that didn’t happen. We returned 2 days later and the whole class was warm ups and stretching. No karate positions or stances. When I commented on this, I was told by Harper that he liked to slowly introduce them. I had asked when the kids needed their gear bag (350$) and Harper told me right away, the kids would be doing gear right away. This caught me off guard so I commented wouldn’t you want the kids confident with their body first and know how to stand and position themselves. He replied with, they need to know it all so why not introduce it at the same time. The same day, he suggested we come at 5 instead of 530 so the kids could have more time for Karate, that meaning an hour class instead of the 30 min he said it would be at sign up. Just seemed a little unorganized. When I expressed to Harper my concerns the next day and that I wasn’t sure we would renew, giving him a 30 day notice of cancellation that he asked for prior to signing up, we spoke about being open minded for the month, which I was happy to do but 15 min after that call ended, he called me back and said while I’m a paying parent and customer, I don’t have the right to tell him how to run his business and this wasn’t a good fit so he would reimburse me but take away 25$ for a free shirt he gave us. I said sorry for any misunderstanding but I’m not telling him how to run his business, just not sold on a kid leading my son with no adult support. The following week he then charged us for the 2 classes as well as the free shirt. I cut my losses and left it at that. While I can try to understand his approach that kids learn better from kids, I couldn’t get behind leaving it all to a kid. He also operates on the Clackamas school schedule which i would understand if he had young kids but his children are teenagers and the school district as we know, closes a lot. I thought it was odd to not be open on all those days knowing kids are usually bored at home with no school.
