Excellent instruction in a traditional dojo. I have been a member for years and received my black belt in 2014. No comparable place in PDX. Instructors are certified in Japan and are part of JKF. Bonus they participate in USA karate and get students to compete locally and nationally. They have state champs in their group but everyone is humble. Love this place.

Great dojo, super good Sensei. Old school, directly connected to Japan. Other dojos can't say that. Great for kids and those who are not natural athletes. Highly recommend.

It’s hard to find a quality karate dojo these days, I went to several dojos in the area before I discovered this one. Highly recommend.

Pacific Renbukai is a traditional karate dojo led by two great instructors. They give quality instruction and are deeply committed to improving their students' karate skills and knowledge. They both earned instructor certification in Japan and continue to maintain strong ties with All Japan Karate Federation Renbukai. I have been a student of theirs for over two years, and can say that my physical (and mental) strength and conditioning have greatly improved as a result of their instruction.

I have not been to a traditional karate class in so long. This place provided quality instruction and serious training in traditional karate. I highly recommend this place for those whom the traditional side of karate appeal to, for those who used to practice karate and want to get back into it, for those who compete in MMA, boxing, kickboxing or other combative/noncombative sports as cross training, for those who desire something different in their fitness regimen (you WILL sweat a lot), and for those who just desire more confidence (once you train for a while, you'll find that confidence). Train hard. Fight easy.
