We went to a number of different martial arts dojos before finding Karate on Main. Our (7 year old) daughter had a hard time getting comfortable at other dojos, but after her first class at Karate on Main, she was already making new friends. While they do a great job teaching karate, for us, the most important impact we’ve seen was our daughter’s growth in confidence and ability to focus. The instructors do a wonderful job of gently coaching children to be their best selves. We’re very happy to be a part of the wonderful community at Karate on Main!

This place is fantastic for learning traditional Okinawan karate. Hard work, discipline, and good exercises. I love learning the traditional ways here and the instructors are very knowledgeable with an incredible lineage. This is the real deal! So happy to be apart of Seishinkan

My son has been part of this wonderful, community-oriented karate club for nearly four years, and it has been an incredibly positive experience for both of us. With its long-standing history and deep roots in the community, the club offers not just excellent martial arts instruction, but also a strong sense of belonging and tradition. From the very beginning, he has found support, encouragement, and lasting friendships here. I’m especially grateful for the many dedicated volunteers—who are truly part of the karate family. Their time, energy, and heart help create a welcoming and enriching space for everyone. I also really appreciate the family-oriented events the club organizes—they foster a warm, inclusive environment where connections grow beyond the dojo. I wholeheartedly recommend this club to anyone looking for a place that values growth, respect, and community. I'm proud to be part of it and excited for all the future learning and development ahead.

My son has been practicing martial arts at Seishinkan Karate on Main for four years. Beyond the physical and health benefits he has gained, we have seen a positive impact on his focus, resilience, determination, and confidence. The friendships he has formed, and the sense of community built through regular attendance have also greatly enriched his life. I highly recommend Karate on Main to anyone looking to help their child develop a mindset that fosters success both in martial arts and in life.

One of my twins started going to Karate about a year ago. She was interested in Martial arts, but didn't know where to start, she was nervous, having some issues with confidence, etc. I emailed Robert about my daughter attending, and he said to come down for a visit. EVERYONE WAS SO NICE AND WELCOMING, my daughter was hooked. She goes twice a week, has friends, just got her Yellow belt, and there is no stopping. The teachers are patient and kind, but also ensure respect is given to the craft and dojo, and the other kids and their parents are really great. ALSO, the cost for what you get is SO LOW.. My other twin does dance, its its 1/3 the amount of visits, and twice the cost, KARATE ALL THE WAY. If you are considering this, do it. Your kids will learn something valuable, but most importantly to respect themselves. Its a life long craft, and a lesson they will never stop learning.
