I'm about 6 weeks into training at Maverick after over a decade away from the sport. It's incredible to walk into a place that so prominently represents it's community and values first. This facility prides itself on the team of practitioners it has built and is continuing to build. The members are welcoming and kind, especially to those who are new to the sport. It's been a breath of fresh air to walk into a gym and immediately feel like you're part of a team. Professor and all of the coaches are professional and detail oriented in their instruction. The student to instructor count is excellent for those looking for smaller classes and more focused instruction. I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking to join a team where you can learn practical skills while working up an incredible sweat. Most importantly for me, this school focuses on safety first. We all have something important to do tomorrow and don't want to be hurt while doing it.

Maverick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Pennsauken, NJ is a great place for anyone looking to learn and train in the martial arts of Jiu Jitsu. Family friendly environment with great coaches and staff. Head instructor Ed is extremely knowledgeable and a very genuine human being. Himself along with the rest of his team help to make Maverick Brazilian Jiu Jitsu one of the best places to train in NJ. My 6-year-old has been going here for a few months, and we absolutely love the school and the kids program. Since starting, my son has really grown in his discipline and confidence. He’s one of the smaller kids in the class, but the coaches do a great job making sure every child gets attention and support. I also really appreciate how they teach the older kids to be aware of their strength and to work respectfully with the younger or smaller students. It creates a very positive and safe environment for everyone. Another big plus is the flexibility with class days, which makes it much easier to fit into our family’s schedule. Overall, we’ve had a great experience and highly recommend this school for anyone looking to get their child into jiu-jitsu.
