BJJ. The B stands for Brazilian and there’s only one real BJJ school around. Quintella. Alex Quintella is Brazilian. If you want to learn Brazilian jui jitsu this is the place to go. All other places around don’t compare. As a matter of fact, most people who go to other jui jitsu schools once went to Quintella. Quintella offers BJJ, Muay Thai, MMA and wrestling classes. If you can spar at Quintella, you can beat anyone outside of Quintella. It’s a family atmosphere. There’s no drama…. At all. Alex teaches respect, honor and humility. The kids classes are second to none. Your kid being bulllied? Take them to Quintella. Alex will make them strong and confident. There are no egos at Quintella. Everyone is there to help each other. Someone will beat you in a roll and then tell you what you did wrong when it’s over. Who does that? Quintella! Alex trains fighters and he creates monsters. He has professional fighters training there. He brings in masters from Brazil to teach seminars and for belt ceremonies. You won’t get that from any other academy. One more thing…… Quintella is cheaper than any other school around. Invest in yourself. Invest in your health. Live a better life. Go to Quintella.

No other place I’d rather learn MMA, BJJ, and Muay Thai. The owner is an amazing wealth of knowledge, the coaching staff is awesome and patient, and the team there is amazing. Very family oriented. A great place to represent.

Quintella is not just a gym, it’s a family! My husband has been going for years, he is there every night! Our daughters love going as well, they have so much fun, all while building confidence and gaining self defense skills. They have made great friends, who help each other out during class, and show them how to improve their skills if they notice them struggling with something. Alex is patient, informative, but also very fun! After awhile, it’s not just a class, it becomes a lifestyle. Quintella offers so much, even private lessons if the many different class times don’t fit in your schedule. There’s tournaments you can attend - either as a competitor or spectator, it’s such a fun place with great people! Don’t hesitate to sign your kids up, or yourself! You’ll be hooked!

Quintella is a REAL MMA gym in the Delco area, We have students of all rankings from first day newcomers with no former combat experience all the way to highly experienced fighters and I can confidently say that the growth of the newcomers with no former combat experience that step into this gym is absolutely astonishing. I could never ask for a better teacher than Sensei Alex, not only is he a great teacher and highly skilled martial artist, but he is also a very kind, patient, and understanding teacher. He will he make sure that you really deserve your awards and that your skill actually matches your ranking but he will also take his time with you and let you learn at your own pace, the entire gym environment is very welcoming to all people and will still push you to be better at the same time, so whether you are looking to start training martial arts or just looking to stay active and get in shape Quintella will do it better, this is 100% the best place to be!

The owner of this place is legit. It used to be decent and has the potential to be good again. Here is a list of the cons; #1 location is way too small and often overcrowded #2 often overcrowded but sometimes there’s no one there to even have a class and you show up for nothing #3 Alex (sensei) does not teach. He only cares about and pays attention to the few that compete. If you don’t compete, he will absolutely ignore you and most likely not remember your name. #4 it is an absolute crap shoot when it comes to instructors. You NEVER know what you’re going to get. Half the time you will have a decent instructor. The other half of the time, you will show up and be “taught” by a 17 year old kid or someone with zero skill and zero experience. #5 No matter how crowded it gets, Alex will constantly try to get more people to sign up. Doesn’t matter if there’s 10 people in a class or 30, there will only be one instructor and you barely get any instruction. #6 sometimes you show up and have a bunch of new people with no experience and it’s a waste of time. Sometimes you show up and you have a room full of hammers, who get off on beating up younger, smaller and weaker people. #7 Alex will promote you to a new belt, whenever he wants extra money, since he charges you for graduation. #8 He will suddenly raise your fees, without mentioning it. This will also occur while youre in contract. I could go on and on but I won’t. Main issue is the lack of instruction by credible instructors.
