One of the best instructors in the area. Careful, kind, and patient with newbies or old heads like me. Judah has always been the one you’re glad to see when you walk into a gym and now he’s got his own home. Don’t miss your opportunity to train here.

I've been training at this gym for the past year and a half or so. The coaches are amazing and knowledgable. They are also patient and kind. The facilities are clean, organized and make you feel at peace immediately when you walk in. It is very beginner friendly, but they also work to push you to be the be your best if you are more experienced. Their mentorship goes beyond the gym, and the lessons I've learned here apply to more than just Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai. They have curated a family, a community and a place for you to turn yourself into a lethal weapon all in one. Judah is a black belt in BJJ and a former pro fighter. Karen is a BJJ purple belt- so they know what they are talking about. Theres also a sauna... What more is there to say?

I've been training for about 2 Months now with no real prior experience. Coach Judah is nothing short of amazing, he is very clear with instructions and has a real passion for Martial arts. The staff and coaches are all incredible the gym is incredible clean and has a great atmosphere and vibe. The other students are all helpful in learning the sport. I'd highly recommend to anyone.

One of a kind place to be. A lovely MMA school with plenty of training facilities. My go-to whenever I visit Philly or when there’s a seminar. Coach Judah is certainly a one-of-a-kind coach who genuinely cares about your way of learning. I’ve watched this school grow from the ground up and can honestly say this is only the beginning of their growth. Coach Keren is just as ecstatic and welcoming, greeting you with open arms. Whether you’re interested in striking, grappling, or even yoga, these guys have the place to grow. 🎋 If you want my honest opinion, you’re wasting your precious time reading this review. Just go check it out and enjoy your experience at the Garden MMA.

Garden MMA is something special. The owner is one of my oldest and favorite training partners, and I’ve watched his journey for years. He genuinely lives the martial way. He carries a true shoshin mindset — always a student, always humble — and that attitude sets the tone for the entire academy. You feel it the moment you step in. The learning atmosphere is collaborative, respectful, and safe. That doesn’t happen by accident. It’s cultivated intentionally — by him and by the students who reflect his example. The curriculum is thoughtful and structured. He’s been planning this for years, and it shows. He’s also been intentional about the diverse, high-quality instructors he trusts to teach. There’s no ego-driven chaos — just battle-tested techniques, proven philosophies, and real development. If you want to learn Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai in a space where you can grow without fear, sharpen your skills with purpose, and be part of something bigger than yourself, this is the spot. More than anything, he truly cares. Not just about producing good fighters, but about serving the martial arts community — and the greater community at large. That heart shows up in everything he builds. Judah and the Garden family rock.
