Friday will be night three of my son’s trial period. Chances are highly likely we’re going to come off early and stay. Feels nice to find a place you want to settle in so quick. Most of my dealings have been with professor Rich and from a dad’s standpoint he is a hell of a stand up guy. Looking forward to a long time of training for my son!

I've been going to Cortes BJJ for over two years and it's been amazing! It has an amazing atmosphere and I absolutely love this place. Professor Nic is awesome, as well as the staff of instructors. I do the boxing program as well, which I love! Any time there has been an issue with payments they have been very compassionate and treated me like family. Their new location is in a really great area, very close to my house. They also care very much about safety — this is a great gym through and through.

The environment is unmatched, everyone here provides their insight on how to become a better grappler. No egos here at all. Nic has done a phenomenal job making sure people feel welcome here. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to learn Jiu Jitsu, it doesn’t matter if you have no experience at all. These people will treat you with respect and have patience for you to learn. One year in with them and I can’t thank them enough for my growth.

My motivation for enrolling was to get an insiders view before enrolling my young son. Is the culture respectful? Is it clean? Is safety prioritized? Yes, yes, and yes. After a year, I am hooked. Professor Nic has created a very supportive and motivating environment where the goal is to match strength and learn technique, not simply to smash through your training partners. Coming in with no prior experience, Cortes BJJ has been a very positive factor towards my cardio and proprioception. I can't recommend it enough; it's incredibly fun.

Anyone who has little kids knows it’s sometimes hard to figure out what is going to work and fit into a schedule. We signed them up with no expectations other than making friends, to learn something different and have fun. All 3 have been met. They have plenty of kid classes, offer school vacation programs and summer camp. Any parent who knows their kid feels safe and comfortable would be relieved to have the other programs available. Instructors complement each other with different teaching styles and are respected by the class.
